CSULA vs CSUN Mechanical Engineering Graduate Program

I will be graduating next semester at CSUN as a Mechanical Engineering. My GPA is currently at 2.9. Does anybody have any luck of getting accepted into their graduate program with that GPA? I know that CSUN requires GRE Exam and a minimum GPA of 3.0, while CSULA requires personal statement. Does CSULA accepts some of the classes from CSUN? Because I would like to minimize the time I might have to spend the graduate program.
