Have you heard anything back from PDX about GRA positions?
I have not. But they mentioned that we should hear back before the April 15 deadline

I’m still considering it, but I’m going to apply to the GRA position and see how it goes! If I don’t get that, I’ll likely be attending SDSU since the program is cheaper. I think PDX has a great program though, so you probably can’t go wrong?
I'll be applying too! Good luck with everything!

That's so awesome that you've already gotten accepted! And congrats on PDX!
PDX was my first choice for a long time because of their bilingual program, but after seeing the cost of tuition I might need to go somewhere a little cheaper. When I looked at tuition there originally I didn't realize it was a quarter system, so I thought it would be closer to 30K and not 60K ? I would love to go to the open house, but I'm not sure I'll be able to make it happen with my work schedule and flights. I might do the google hangouts option!
Congrats again!
Hi @lifeispeachy and @meadymalarkey!! Congratulations on your acceptances! I also got into PDX (only acceptance so far) and it was also my first choice because of their bilingual program. But just like you @lifeispeachy the cost of tuition is scaring me haha. I will be attending the open house because I really want to get to know the department before I make any decision.

Hi everyone!
I am a current undergrad in communication disorders and sciences and I am getting ready to apply to grad schools this Fall. I have a 3.8 GPA and some experience and strong letters of rec; however, I recently took the GRE and I scored horribly. With that being said, I am now looking into applying to schools that don't require the GRE. I would retake it but at this moment in time I don't have the money to pay for it. I was wondering if anyone can share the schools that for sure don't require the GRE. Thank You.

Hi Everyone! I was wondering if anyone who attended or attends UNM SLP Masters Program will like to share their experience and overall opinion of the program. I am a current undergrad applying to grad schools this fall and am looking into UNM but I have seen a lot of mixed reviews. I know y'all are busy individuals but If you can take time to reach out to me that would be much appreciated. Thank You!

Hi I know this is kind of an old topic but would either MMR218 or danielle90 be willing to give a first-hand update on your UNM experience after your first semester. Have your experiences been good and did you see any of the negatives the other users posted about? I know you are both probably very busy in your program but never hurts to ask!

PSU remote learning or deferment

Hi! I also accepted the offer from Portland State for Summer 2020!
I personally have decided not to defer my acceptance because I feel like if I take the year off, once I start Summer 2021, I wont have the knowledge and concepts I've accrued as retained as I do now. That obviously is a personal observation for myself and my learning style. I also took into consideration feedback from current grad students and alumni of the program. They speak highly of the departments flexibility and mission to ensure quality education to their students in crisis like we are in now. If you have any questions or concerns you can always contact the Speech and Hearing Sciences department Office Coordinator, Erica Popple, or the Department Chair, Dr. Christina Gildersleeve-Neumann
Good luck with your decision!
