Hi everyone,
I've been officially accepted to my Masters program, offered funding and been assigned an advisor, but it's the end of April and I still haven't received the official admissions packet. I've been in touch with a few people in my supposed new department and with the Admissions Office, and I've been told over the last month or so to keep checking back "in case I haven't received the packet". I'm about to fly out to look at apartments, and just fill out the packet and give the deposit when I physically stop by the admissions office 2,000 miles away.
Apparently a database upgrade is to blame, but what sort of university upgrades a database in the middle of admissions?
I know that I'll still be going but it's frustrating to wait this long. Luckily this was the only school I applied to (this year) and I was accepted, but if I'd had other offers, I'd be stringing them along well past April 15th. It just doesn't seem very attractive as a first impression of administrative red tape...
Sorry, just venting my frustrations, and wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.
Thanks
