  1. Although sound moral judgment is an important characteristic of an effective leader, it is not as important as a leader’s ability to maintain the respect of his or her peers. Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the statement and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the statement might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position. Essay: Today society is what our leaders wanted it to be. Each action they take, every decision they make, puts a mark in history. So in an era of socio-technical evolution, the qualities of leaders require much attention more than anytime before. Sound moral judgment is a relatively more important characteristic of an effective leader than the ability to maintain peers' respect. Leadership is not an inherent quality. It can rather be defined as a personality type which is socially approved for its consistent portrayal of social well-wishing characteristic. Simplifying words, leadership is all about maintaining a favourable image approved by the group being led. This image is really important for a leader to safeguard because if once breached, followers will no longer put faith in his actions or judgement. Sound moral judgement is something that every follower expects from their leader regardless of their philosophical backgrounds. If a leader becomes more careful about maintaining his/her peers' respect, at one point his followers will eventually notice his ill judgement in case of peers. He will then no longer be trusted as an effective leader. No one wants to be a leader if they don't really want to stay effective in that position. So, a leader to maintain his position effectively must prioritize on sound moral judgement over peers.
