  1. Score: 12.9/20; Successful for Category B! Congratulations to all those who are successful and keep pushing to those who were unsuccessful!
  2. second that! nothing more any of us can actually do. lets leave our graduate program admins alone, take a nice bath later, listen to a good playlist and stay off the canada post and sshrc website haha. suggestion: http://songza.com/listen/zen-out-jazz-songza/ results... soooon(ish)
  3. my program director said there wasn't any update on the admin side of things, either he doesn't want to deliver bad news, or they're telling us first?
  4. Good afternoon, The results for the Doctoral awards were mailed out yesterday afternoon. Per Canada Post standards, you should receive this letter within 10 business days. The results will also be uploaded on the secure online portal later this week. SAME RESPONSE. GODSPEED FRIENDS
  5. declined for a vanier, hoping for the best for sshrc!
  6. i thought my leadership would be so high; it was 4.5. the research potential for mine was what killed me.

  8. I'm invigilating a three hour exam on Tuesdaybih the afternoon. Here comes torture.
  9. It's unlikely that it'll be released at midnight, but I don't think that will stop any of us from actively refreshing in the midnight hour. trying really hard to prepare for both good and bad news, guess which is easier? lol
  10. cheers to that! just a few more days...
  11. Although the Vanier CGS award is open to students worldwide, 8 out of 10 institutions were not able to identify enough suitable candidates to fulfill their nomination quotas at the end of the first allocation period. The shortfall of suitable applicants nominated was not due to a lack of interested candidates as institutions screened out a little over half of all applicants in the first stage of the selection process." - GULP.
  12. As per http://www.vanier.gc.ca/eng/allocations_by_university-liste_d_attributions.html Eligible Canadian universities receive three-year allocations based on 600 total nominations per federal granting agency (CIHR, NSERC and SSHRC). These three-year allocations have been determined for the 2012-2013, 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 competitions. (Note that the first set of triennial allocations was calculated for the 2009-2010, 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 competitions.)
  13. just catching this forum now; good luck to everyone, seems we are in the final stretch now!
  14. Carleton Central status just changed from "Recommended for Assessment" to "Review in progress by department". Anybody else? Seems to be a good sign for the MSW department, but I know these things are program/department specific.
  15. waitlist-ish land? I was told yesterday that the first round of admissions were sent out today and that I was not among the first round, but was still in the running. The email stated that although they could not say much more (informal email from POI) I had not been rejected, was still in the running and was not on the reversion list. Can somebody make sense of this for me? I'm wait listed at another top choice but that email seemed to be far more direct.
  16. In the past typically admissions begin to be released this week
  17. I am also waiting on the PhD results - hoping to hear soon. Keep the faith!
  18. haha! good to know other people are still waiting to hear also...
  19. First time applying for PhD entrances. I've applied to three schools, York-Ryerson (ComCult), Carleton (Communiction) and Western (Media Studies). I've noticed that carleton and western have both begun admitting students into their respective programs. Anybody else waiting to hear back from these places? I'm so anxious, I just want an answer already...
