  1. Did anyone else get the email about field placements, and applying for competitive placements? I find it super frustrating that they are due a week after we'll hear back, so essentially we have to apply even if we'll be rejected (I'm obviously doing it if there's a placement I want, but still). But I also find it interesting that admitted students will be contacted by a faculty member in late February or early March, which seems like an unofficial acceptance....in which case, they should just send out the official decision? I dunno...I was kinda excited/relieved that for at least February, I wouldn't be expecting any emails, but now that isn't the case.
  2. Thanks! I did, it especially helped once I accepted that decisions are coming on Monday.
  3. Same. I've been to the gym, I took a nap, I just walked to the grocery store to pick up medication, all in an attempt to keep busy. Fortunately, a friend invited me to her org's event tonight so that should keep my mind off the fact that we'll be hearing back Monday (considering the time).
  4. Okay, so apparently they are open until 4:30pm. For those of us on the east coast...two more hours of waiting to go ?
  5. You know, the lady I talked to yesterday did make a comment that we would hear back either today or on the 3rd. But then she sounded so sure about today that I didn't think much of it? I didn't even think admissions people would be working on a weekend...
  6. Wow I have NEVER related to something more. So much for hoping it would come at 8am their time.
  7. Yeah I finally gave in and called earlier today. Was told the same thing - although I didn't realize the admissions people had been changing the date around (that's what the lady I spoke to said). She wasn't sure about what time, but honestly I have a feeling it'll be early morning. Here's to waking up to good news!
  8. I'm just gonna die. That's all there is to it!
  9. Oof that is rough. Hopefully the quote "No news is good news" still rings true for you in that situation. Maybe you applied later than the others? Is there a set hear-back date, like for Denver? Or if they had a large applicant pool, they might still be releasing decisions. Fingers crossed!
  10. God I hope so. ? The anxiety is truly mentally exhausting at this point. I'm quite grateful that tomorrow I'll be at my internship from 8:30-4:30, and while I will have access to my email (and be regularly checking it because duh), I'll be kept busy. Now, if decisions are not released on Saturday...who's gonna be the one to call Monday? ? I feel like their office will be SLAMMED with calls if they don't release by the deadline - which to me, is fair, because if we have to follow a deadline, they should as well. (And honestly, depending on what time I get off my internship...I may call myself).
  11. I have to keep reminding myself that no news is good news...the fact that no one has received an email yet OR seen anything on their status page, is actually more comforting than it happening. I have a feeling that decisions are either coming out tomorrow, or will be late...
  12. Anyone heard back from Denver yet?
  13. Congratulations to everyone who's been accepted!!!!!
  14. Yeah, I saw that too, but nothing on my end so far. Hopefully they aren't doing that anymore. ? I had the same thing happen to me, actually! I submitted it past midnight my time, and so I thought I'd missed the deadline for both Feb 1st hear-back, and the fee waiver. But the status page registered it as 12/15 and waived the fee as well, which like, I wasn't going to argue with. ? Only earlier did I realize it's likely because of the time zone differences. Congratulations on being debt free! That's amazing. Also, major props to those who go back to school in their 30s or even 40s. I have mad respect for y'all.
  15. It really doesn't make sense, considering that for last year, at least, they only received 400 or so applications? Which I mean, is a lot, but also, Michigan gets over 1000. Maybe their staff is smaller though, and they have to space out the review days. I'm honestly just glad I don't have to respond to Michigan until 3/30, although if I'm accepted to Denver, I don't think it'll even be an option tbh. (They also offered me no aid, but this was before my Fasfa was submitted, so hopefully that'll change...)
  16. Ahh that's great that they still counted you as by or before 12/15! When I called I was told my application was under review, and it's been over a week (I called on a Friday), and I'm beginning to understand the broadness of that answer. ? I also hope I get good financial aid - I know every accepted student is offered something, but how much that something is, is the question. It's taking all of my strength not to call Denver again. ? I might see if theres's a forum from last year and stalk that to see when people found out.
  17. Me too! I'm dying to know their decision. Every time my mail notification goes off, I get way too excited...and then disappointed.
  18. Ahhh congrats! Which program did you apply for (advanced, two-year, etc.)?
  19. Currently 2:34pm in Denver...it is 4:34pm here, so at least 3/4 more hours of waiting to see if my decision comes today. I actually really hope it is tomorrow when I'm at research so I can let my mentor and other team members know (if they don't hear me screech with excitement first....and if it is good news).
  20. Wow, this is what I get for not reading fully...it actually does say that! March 30th as well! Thank goodness.
  21. I received my official letter from UMich today! It came in email. I only heard back on the 16th, so I imagine those who heard earlier will also be getting the letter soon. I'm a little confused though - I can't find the respond-by date anywhere, not even in my portal? As for financial aid - it said in the letter that that information will be coming separately. I'm a little concerned though, because for some reason I didn't complete the financial aid portion on the application, but i did just submit my Fasfa...hopefully I'll be offered something.
  22. I feel like at the Master's-level, a lot of schools take a more holistic approach when reviewing applications; so hopefully they don't put too much emphasis on grammar. Making two mistakes certainly doesn't indicate being bad at a language! It's impressive alone to be bi- or multi-lingual.
  23. Ooh, a macro friend! So rare to find yet much needed. :') I applied for interpersonal practice at Michigan; the Children & Youth concentration at Denver; and the Community-Centered Integrative Practice concentration at Washington. I hope to become a school social worker, and maybe move up into educational policy after a while. I also have intentions of opening a homeless shelter for LGBTQ+ youth, or working with that population in some way. Washington's CCIP concentration really seems to encompass both micro- and macro-level skills, which is honestly why it's my top choice (here's to waiting until the end of March!).
  24. Y'all, I had a dream last night that I was accepted to Denver...my anxiety is really getting to me lol
