So to keep our minds off the two days of no news...what concentration and specializations (if any) did everyone apply for? What do y'al want to do in the career field?
-
Ugh. I hate waiting.
-
That feeling on a Friday afternoon when you're anxiously trying not to check your email every five seconds because Denver now has just a week to send out decisions...
-
I received my call last Thursday, and I haven't heard back in any form yet either. I'm going to give them another week before I ask about the email. I know mail might take a while but I really want to know my financial aid and when I have to respond by (so I can go ahead and push it back aha).
-
I might die. I just stalked the forum for last year - people were hearing back as early as February and as late as mid-March (maybe after then too, I didn't finish reading). Maybe it just depends on how many applicants they get, and how fast they get through review. Although, it also seemed like applicants were hearing back on a rolling basis...so maybe it changed this year? No idea. I'm just going to try and accept that I won't know until late March, and if it's earlier...hopefully it's good news!
-
Honestly, you might be right that they release all at once? I feel like no one has posted yet with a response, unless they applied much earlier than 12/15. Although I also called on Friday (I'm impatient please don't judge), and was told my application is under review. Of course, it could still be February 1st that I hear back, but that eased some anxiety.
-
Same! I live on the opposite side of the country so spring break is honestly the only time I can visit, other than after school lets out. I might visit anyway, if I can find cheap enough plane tickets (since I will be visiting before I hear back).

So I emailed the admissions office, at the suggestion of my research supervisor. Her idea was that if I let them know I've already been accepted and have to respond to X school soon, they might push my application forward (apparently Denver would love to take someone from Michigan, but she was unsure about UW). I made sure to include in my email that Washington is my top choice and essentially asked for my application status. They just responded and said that to be fair to all applicants, the earliest they send out admissions decisions is the end of March, "so that all applicants receive their notifications at the same time". So this must mean they don't release on a rolling basis, and end of March is still their target deadline. Frustrating, but glad to know that I will likely not be finding out during February, which saves a lot of anxiety. (March is a different story.)

So I emailed the admissions office at University of Washington and apparently they release all the decisions at once (end of March). Wish they would do it on a rolling basis but oh well.
-
I haven't, but I only received my acceptance Thursday evening. I asked when they called and was told it would be mailed with the official acceptance letter. I also imagine it (should eventually) will show up on the Wolverine access page, once that's been updated as well (like to show your acceptance)? Not sure about that since the page still hasn't updated for me.

If you applied before December 15th, you'll hear back before February 1st! I had it confirmed with someone from admissions last week when I called...they also said my application was under review, which is terrifying ahhh.
-
So ready to hear back from Denver...hopefully this week! Although I hate that after Denver, it'll likely be 1.5 months before hearing back from Washington.
-
@ara275 Oh cool, I also applied to Denver! I talked to someone from admissions on Friday - they said that decisions are released as they go, and if you did the December 15th deadline, we'll know within the next two weeks! Eep! Wishing you all the luck - hopefully we will be future classmates! @ara275 I agree about the late decision date! I applied to three schools, all out-of-state, so for any of them, hearing back in late March is fairly inconvenient for me. Washington, though, is literally on the other side of the country, so it is really stressful to consider everything I'd have to do between late March and late July, if I'm accepted. And Washington IS my first choice as well, so if I'm accepted, I'm attending! What gets me is that the 2019 advanced standing class profile only had 130 applicants. I know their application date is later than other schools, but late March seems like an awfully long time to go through applications? Especially considering Michigan is able to go through 500+ between their early deadline and February 1st (and winter break)...I'm so tempted to call admissions and ask about my status already, even though January isn't over yet. @Somalb I stalked the forum for fall 2019 applicants and hardly anyone had mentioned applying to Washington - I also looked at signatures, and only one person had their hear-back date, which was 3/15. I guess that's technically mid-March, but still pretty late. Honestly I want to give admissions a call and ask if they send out decisions earlier than late March, and what my own status is. I'm going to try and wait until February to do that, though. Question for both of you/anyone else - are you guys going to visit the campus? If so, will it be before or after the decision? I'll be visiting schools that accepted me during my spring break, which is the first week of March - so possibly before I hear back from Washington. But after spring break, I won't have another chance until school is out, so I'm wondering if I should? It is my first choice, so in that regard, I feel like it would be beneficial. But it would also be expensive (especially if I end up visiting all three schools), so I need to consider that as well. In other news, I was accepted to University of Michigan Thursday night! I half applied only for the ego boost, and am still shocked lmao. I hope I can delay my answer for a while.
-
So I called University of Denver today and was told that my application is under review. The woman I talked to also said that they release decisions as they go, rather than a handful on a particular weekday. Thought I would let those who applied to Denver know!
-
I'm wondering if people are starting to hear back? I applied at the last minute for the early deadline (12/15/19), which means I'm supposed to hear back by February 1st. I'm getting super anxious and am so tempted to call and ask.
-
If you're talking about UMich, you should hear back soon! I also submitted mine the night of, and just heard back last night! I got my call at 6:41pm EST.
-
Thank you!
-
For those who have been accepted to Michigan - how long did it take for your acceptance to show up on the wolverine access page? I feel like mine looks the same, or at least, I'm not sure if anything will change on the page? (but I also only received my call last night, so I'm not surprised).
-
Okay so!! I GOT ACCEPTED INTO UMICH!!!!!! I was literally in the car with my best friend and telling her how I'm going to be refreshing my email so much tomorrow, and then my phone is ringing and it's the area code for Michigan!!! I was so scared to answer and my friend kept telling me to pick up. ? I 100% relate to the poster who said they blacked out because honestly all I heard was "pleased" and "admissions" lol. I'm so so excited to tell my research supervisor as well, because she was one of my LORs!
-
Question for those who have been accepted to UMich: it seems like y'all received a phone call? Did they also email you later on? I don't like the idea of a phone call since they might call when I'm busy and I won't be able to answer, but also, I may not answer an unknown number. I'm also tempted to contact admissions, but I feel like it's too early for that - has anyone done it though? I submitted my application on December 1st, and the website says I should hear back by March 1st...so I still have several weeks (I also submitted the day of so they likely haven't even gotten to my application yet). But it seems like people are already getting a decision!! Aggh, I can't take this wait!!
-
I just squeaked because so did I, so it looks like I may be hearing back soon. *dies*
-
What deadline did you apply to for Mich? I'm wondering when I'll hear back if people are already getting answers! Congrats!
-
What school was this for?
-
I'm so thankful to be back at my internship because it distracts me from thinking about grad school so much! I still check it whenever I have the chance, but it's still better than if I had nothing to do all day. ? Although I'm pretty sure if I get the email at my internship or even in class...I might squeak, I might squeal with excitement, OR I will be absolutely speechless (good news, that is...).
-
Omg congrats!!!! That's my dream school and getting a full ride is also a dream!! When did you apply? Before January 2nd, I assume.
