Hi. I am brazilian. I've got a GPA of 3.5 in my Economics B.S. at my local university. It's a good university, but calculus disciplines were pretty weak. I wanted to do an "academic upgrade" and applied to a master's in the University of São Paulo's (that's the most important university in Brazil) Agricultural Economics Department. I am almost finishing it, but with a very bad GPA. I got lots of C grades because of my poor mathematics background from undergrad course. My purpose in going to that university was having a master's from a great university to increase my chances of passing a doctoral program abroad, but now I am just afraid that these poor grades might simply ruin my chances of going for a PHD abroad.Right now I started self studying math for getting a PHD in the future, but I don't know what to do about my master's. Should I simply pretend it never happened? P.S. 1: Economics Master's program in Brazil is actually harder than the PHD because it really tries to prepare students for PHD abroad;P.S. 2: I don't intend to try those top PHD programs in Ivy League.
