  1. Yeah! I was emailed by a prof. That is unusual however from what I understand. When I went to check my application portal it had changed to accepted.
  2. My friends! I have been accepted off the Waitlist. I will be attending UVA as a doctoral student in Christian Theological Perspectives! Good luck to all of you!
  3. Hey friends! I'm wait listed for Christian Studies. Would love to study with Mathewes, Jones, and Flores. Love the program so much.
  4. I would say no interview probably means a rejection. But truly I don't know the process for BU at all
  5. Still looking for that BU rejection. Bound to happen soon!
  6. Friends who are on the waitlist for UVA... How are you doing? How are you holding up? What do you wanna study? Goals? Dreams? Since we are all in this together right now I figured we could try and raise one another up!
  7. Wanted to let you guys know that I just got officially waitlisted for the UVA PhD program. Wish me luck!
  8. @saab and @batyah I love Drew! I hope that you both get in. I love UVA's program so much I would marry it so fingers crossed! Hoping to do Public Theology. I regret not applying to Vanderbilt and SMU. Oh well.
  9. @batyah I also applied to Boston and UVA! I haven't heard anything from either of them yet. Congrats on Boston!
  10. No movement for me yet. But also no movement from anyone on the forums about the two places I have applied. So... that may be good?
  11. Friend this is one of the most stressful and mental health ravaging things I can think of. I am so sorry that this happened. It's very good that you got a back up!
  12. We starting to get scary friends! Does every PhD program do interviews?
  13. @bigsh I really like Garrett. Makes my United Methodist heart happy! Plus it's right there by Northwestern so you have all kinds of great library access. Hope you get in!
  14. @NTGal I also hope that you get into ND! It would be awesome if we both got get a PhD. We got this! We just have to not lose our minds.
  15. @NTGal Sorta? I double majored in Sociology and Religious Studies. I just was drunk all the time. Then I kinda met Jesus and I did very well in Grad School. When I met with the profs at UVA (which was awesome) the sense I got from them and their website was that they were looking for a strong fit, strong grad school GPA, and strong letters. I think I have those things...but who knows? My GRE scores could have easily just caused them to toss my application out. I am quite sure that your two master's degrees will compensate. I have to say that because I'm hoping mine do! I thought about applying to Duke as well but honestly there wasn't anyone there I really wanted to study with. Boston University is really cool so I hope that works out... but I really love UVA a lot.. AHHH!
  16. @NTGal That is very cool. Those are all really great programs. I can't tell if my obsessing on this website is making me more relaxed or not. I think I have a good sense of when I may hear from places now too. The main thing I am afraid of is my poor undergrad performance. I make up for it in grad school...but still. The folks I spoke with at UVA told me that they weren't as interested in a high GRE score...which is also nice because it isn't as great as it could have been. This is really something I want and I am not used to wanting things this badly!
  17. @NTGal It's scary stuff! I just wish there was some more transparency around the process: When can we expect an answer? How will that answer be communicated? and so on. I am sure you posted this already but where have you applied?
  18. Glad I found this website and this forum. I am just sitting around freaking out, waiting to hear back from University of Virginia's PhD in Religion program and Boston University's PhD in Theology. We can suffer together!
