Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for commiserating with me these couple of few weeks. I genuinely hope each of you get the fellowship!

I’d bet money they break the Tuesday-Friday pattern. They delayed it and are trying to make up time on their deadline. I also bet that results will come out around 11 or 12 because I doubt their web admins want to work this late on a Sunday.

From what I understand based on reading previous years forums, the results are posted early in the morning and then emails are sent out in the late morning.

Agreed that it is ridiculous. But, maintenance is usually posted in the afternoon so I don’t we’ll know until COB.

On Monday the NSF announced how much funding they had for the 2023 FY. Perhaps this colleague was referring to that? I would assume that funding would be secured prior to announcing the 2022 GRFP.

They do maintenance every weekend. It has nothing to do with the GRFP.

Wait, but isn’t this suggesting that at lower page counts that the results are released earlier? So we should all stop posting if we want the results? ?

Nah. These are working professionals not students on school project. They need to get their sh!t together. Set an achievable date and stick to it.

I feel like over the weekend and through this morning, I went from feeling anxious to apathetic and am now just upset with the NSF for dragging this on so long. It really shouldn't be this difficult to stick to deadlines and keep the process on schedule and transparent. They've been doing this since the '50s; it's time to get it together.

Looks like we won’t be finding out results today. The message re: award notifications on nsfgrfp.org was just updated to say that results will be released in early April. Maybe we’ll find out Friday. I’m over this now though ?

Nope. Scheduled maintenance.

Very strange. I wonder if this is part of some sort of testing that they run before website maintenance/posting results.

I was until I started following this thread and now I get emails whenever someone posts here. I still check every few hours, but knowing I am getting emails (and will therefore see when someone posts that maintenance is happening or that results are up) has really reduced my stress/neuroticism.

Sounds like it is just an interview. Schools make short-lists prior to interviewing. Congrats on getting an interview!

I wouldn't worry too much about "hoarding" offers. It's your life, not anyone else's, so don't make any choices until you are ready. Obviously, if you know that you won't accept an offer, its best to let it go sooner rather than later. But, if you have multiple good offers, keep them until you've made a decision that you are comfortable with. All programs (in the U.S.) will give you until April 15th, so if you make a decision in March that should give programs enough time to reach out to their waitlists. In fact, this is exactly why there are waitlists, so that you can have time to make decisions without it harming others. And with my offers none of the committees have asked me to commit sooner than April 15th, just to let them know as soon as I know. I've just told them thank you and that I will be strongly considering their offer.

A faculty from GMU reached out to me to discuss the status of my application. They explicitly said that it was not for an interview but rather to discuss my application status. Has anyone else gotten an email like this from GMU or another school? Any thoughts on what it could mean?

Yes, I was waitlisted without interviewing at BGSU. I think that it is rare for a school to do this, albeit slightly more common in I-O psych that in other branches of psychology.

I heard back from BGSU-they have already extended offers and they put me on their waitlist (they said that it was a short waitlist). I got into Ohio University, interviews were on January 2nd; OU's visitation weekend is this Friday.

Does anyone know how good either Georgia Tech's or Saint Louis's programs are? I have seen a few rankings online, but those tend to be a mixed bag.
