Hi, I know this forum is a little dead now but has anyone heard from Arizona State University? I emailed them because I felt like I needed my last rejection in writing before I could move on and pick a program and they actually told me I wasn’t rejected and that they are still considering my application?? Even though initial acceptances and wait lists had gone out. Is this like long wait list? They told me they would let me know on or shortly after April 15th, which obviously doesn’t work for me when I’m considering other offers that need to be solidified by then. I committed to a school yesterday though because I was scared to wait longer with Covid-19 related budget problems and funding being pulled. I know it will probably be a rejection from ASU, just a later one, but am I crazy for holding hope in the back of my heart/ has anyone gotten a similar response from them?

Also can someone please tell me why the funding at University of San Francisco is such a JOKE ?
-
I still haven’t heard from Riverside or Arizona State University. I know it’s got to be bad news, but I can’t seem to move forward without those decisions in writing. I’ve emailed Riverside with no response. Has anyone gotten their rejections from these two programs? What should I do?

If a school (University of San Francisco and Chapman) does not directly tell you anything about funding, should I just assume that means I get $0? Would it be worth it to ask about money? And if so, does anyone have any advice on how to go about that?

Anyone heard from Riverside about poetry??
-
I’d really like to email the programs I am waiting on to see if I can get concrete answers so I can accept one of my other offers, but I’m so anxious about it. Does anyone have any advice or a template they’ve used to inquire?

Got into Chapman for poetry!!! 5a/1w/4r/5p Waiting on Columbia, UC Riverside, UC Irvine, Purdue, and Arizona State (although I know I am most pretty much waiting on rejections from the last three, if not all five haha). Five acceptances feels like a dream though ?

Anyone heard from Chapman for poetry?

Anyone been in contact with Riverside? I’m feeling like today’s the day to call them before another dragging weekend, but I’m nervous lmao
-
I saw that but it seems strange to me. I’ve only seen one UCI acceptance across all genres.

Had the most amazing phone call today and I am fully funded with a $25k gift at UMKC!! Definitely the top choice right now, but still wondering about UC Irvine and Riverside. I am a very happy girl after the partial scholarships from other programs. April 15th is coming up so quickly and I still need to hear from 6 schools and it looks like visits will be near impossible, STRESS.

Is anyone here in at University of San Francisco that has received funding??
-
Any news on UC Riverside or Irvine?? (I’m poetry, but I’ve only seen CNF news).

Excited to head into a new week and hopefully hear some more news. At this point, I am waiting on EIGHT more schools with that April 15th deadline seeming like it’s speeding at me. I know a few of those have already sent out acceptances, so I’m waiting for rejection emails, but a few it looks like no one has heard from. How many more are y’all waiting on?
-
Also very anxious about New School acceptances because people are starting to find them in their portal, but mine hasn’t changed. Trying not to lose hope ahh.
-
I’ve heard that Iowa poetry waitlist and rejection letters have apparently been sent out via mail. Have any of you received one yet? I just want to have the hard copy in my hand, even though I know it’ll be tough. I don’t want to wait longer ?

Just woke up to an email I received at 3:28 am my time and IM IN AT UNIVERSITY OF SAN FRANCISCO!!! Kind of a strange email haha but I’m so glad to have a California option. No word on funding yet, so crossing my fingers and toes for that. Another program that I don’t know too much about, but I’m going to go study up. Have a great day all, and hang in there!

I have heard from 3 of the 15 programs I applied to. I know that so many of them have already started notifying. I’m constantly telling myself I’ve been rejected everywhere because, at this point, no news feels like bad, bad news. Why does this process have to feel so horrible I JUST WANT CONCRETE ANSWERS.

I got an email to check my portal yesterday around 4:30 and it was a rejection (I’m a poet btw). I was vague because I thought a bunch of other people would be posting rejections, but no one else did LMAO so that feels great. But I can’t realllllly complain because they wanted the GRE and I refused to take it hahaha. I saw some rejections in January for poetry, so I’m making myself feel better by thinking that I at least got through to the second round of rejections ?

Johns Hopkins :(((((

If I haven’t heard from Purdue for poetry yet, I’m assuming it’s bad news? Probably same for Iowa too. All day at work I’m anxious to check my phone and then I do and the nothing that’s there is worse than a rejection haha.

Saw a UC Riverside acceptance on the results board and feel like I’m going to throw up. I’m three hours ahead of California but I just want to know nowww. Does anyone know of any other acceptances or if acceptances are staggered??
-
Hi! Thank you ? I don’t think this is clear rejection at all!! I also sent my transcripts in late and had to email my unofficial ones haha. I wish I would have asked about the status of seats left, but something in the way she was speaking made me believe that when she talked to me they hadn’t sent out all acceptances yet. All she did tell me is that they have accepted two screenwriters so far to that program. Best of luck to you, I hope there is good news soon!

I had a lovely phone call tonight with the director of the MFA program at University of Missouri Kansas City and I am IN! Waiting to hear back about GTA and fellowships by the first two weeks of March. For all of you guys anxious about the phone call acceptances, we played phone tag ALL day because I was at work, but she was so absolutely sweet and kind. I needed this after the cold, cold UMass Amherst rejection. Hasn’t been my first choice but I’m excited to look into the program a bit more. She was so kind about my writing and told me that my app was met with unanimous enthusiasm, so that will definitely tide me over through some of the rejections I’m sure to be receiving soon. Hang in there, everyone!!

Has anyone heard anything from Johns Hopkins? I saw some rejections posted on the results board, but I also don’t want to assume that no news is good news and get my hopes up. It’s the only one that I keep thinking I will hear back from soon and it’s driving me crazy.
