yes, I was just honest about how COVID-19 had impacted my income and they gave me a small-ish amount more
-
That makes sense. I did my undergrad at Columbia and Gregory is a real gem. My chats with alums/current students have been super helpful. Although I’m still undecided lol. Maybe whoever you are in contact with in the department could set you up with a current student or alum .

Did you check the portal ? I didn’t get an email that it was updated but someone posted on here that you can check it. My rejection was there. I’m on my phone or i would link to the post. But yeah someone said that when they went to their Yale interview there were painting students who had already interviewed with UCLA?

Hi, I’m not debating a school that is as expensive as Columbia but i am choosing between Bard and Hunter. I think that I’ve been trying to think about which school I would’ve been more crushed to be rejected from??—and maybe that will tell me which school to go to. I’m maybe not that helpful to you because I didn’t even apply to Columbia as I knew that I wouldn’t want to take on that much debt. Will they connect you to any current students ? I’m also using current students to help me figure out which school to attend.

someone else posted that UCLA acceptances went out the week of 2/17

I feel similarly. I have an offer from another school but I'm not sure if I should let them know. Personally, I am leaning toward not letting them know. I asked my other school for an extension on my decision and let them know that Hunter's decision was late. I think think that if you still want to use your other offer to ask for more grant money etc. (I don't even know if Hunter offers grant money) you can always ask and let them know about your other offer after you receive your initial offer from Hunter. I definitely know someone who got into Columbia but was rejected from Rutgers and was later told it was because the faculty knew that he would get into Columbia and doubted that he would chose Rutgers. but really this is just my opinion. Are you thinking of letting them know about your other schools?

Anyone heard from Hunter ?
-
Me too.... i think it probably depends on the faculty . I’ll message you as I have more ideas about the pros of bard Faculty but it would probably de-anonymize me.
-
Well hope to see you there:) I’m glad you have a job. I spoke to someone and was told that if they do cancel then most likely they will just keep everyone’s spot that wants it. But that is maybe not the entire faculty’s official position. Stay safe

It is a really challenging time to make this decision. It is reasonable to ask to defer but I suppose that we won’t know more for a couple months ...and that would be too long to defer the decision. I’m also not comfortable with throwing away a deposit but maybe that is what will have to happen. thanks for adding your thoughts . Hopefully you will see some movement on the waitlists soon.

I’m considering saying “yes” to Bard but I’m worried that they will cancel this summer. Anyone else in this position ? @rag124 are you considering Bard ? I saw that you were accepted also. I wondering if I should ask to defer my decision until we all know more. Hope everyone is as safe as possible

they did call me about 40 minutes late—stay on your skype ??

Is the office still taking phone calls? Maybe they would know. Campus moved online on 3/9 so if the week overlapped with that timeframe it could be covid delay.....maybe. Hope you get in if that’s what you want.
-
There could be a delay because columbia is rapidly shutting down its campus and the visual art studios and facilities . I don’t know why it would specifically impact photo (and I didn’t get an interview) but it could be causing a delay.

Haven’t heard anything. I heard that the painting program doesn’t even do interviews. They just call the people they want to accept and do a brief chat...
-
P sure all the Columbia interview invites have gone out because interviews are happening next week for painting, sculpture, new genres, moving image. And I think other people have said that photo interviews have gone out
-
Also haven’t heard from UCLA painting. Someone posted on here that last year they contacted people at the end of Feb (but not sure which discipline)
-
Which discipline ?
-
This was supposed to be in response to @MellonHead but I can’t figure it out on my phone
-
Hunter painting interview requests have gone out.
-
Hunter painting interview requests out (through email) bard - interview requested rutgers - rejected hunter - interview requested columbia - waiting ucla - waiting

Columbia -- last year the interviews happened around the second week of march so I don't think interview decisions have been made Hunter -- I also haven't heard anything Bard -- at the Q&A they said interviews usually take place the first weekend in March so we still have time
