I graduated in 2019 and took a year off to do research at a large public research university. I've gotten accepted to graduate school in Epidemiology at Emory and GW and I am currently deciding whether or not it is worth going into graduate school now or staying another year or two in my current position. I was offered a promotion with more responsibilities, however, my research isn't perfectly in line with what I would ideally be doing. On a side note, I did get rejected from one of two PhD programs. Is it considered appropriate to reach out to an admissions director at the schools to ask what they think could have been strengthened in my application?
