I got accepted to both but I chose NYU! I've heard from friends that went to Columbia that they were not happy with the program and felt that they didn't learn much. They also said it was not inclusive enough having classes with professors that were mainly white and protested.

Hey y'all, I'm not sure if this is a thing but wanted to gain more insights on the professors at NYU Silver School of Social Work. I'll be going in the fall and wanted to know folks thoughts on certain professors if they already are in the program? Some names don't pop up on Rate My Professor and I really enjoy learning professors teaching styles and forms of communication before enrolling in the class. Some professors that popped up for courses I may take are: Lauren Snedeker Natalie Medina-Minton Cheryl Lopez Ellen Friedman Amanda Mays Douglas Brooks Olatunde Olusesi Any help would be appreciated and this is to not diss the professors by any means!

Did they invite you to do a group interview as the next part of the application process? I'm worried cause I submitted 2/3. Congrats!

I am so glad I found this thread! I applied to NYU (1/10), Hunter (1/20) and Columbia (1/20). Hunter is my top choice and I've had the same fears of having a group interview and whether I'd hear back in time with other deadlines. I got accepted into NYU already and went to an info session. I'm already working at a Social Services agency as well and hoping to make that my field placement. Wishing the best of luck for everyone on their social work journey, keep me updated!

I would definitely love to connect with other folks that are based in New York (Brooklyn) to have support throughout this MSW application process. I've been accepted into NYU but am waiting to hear back from Hunter (my top choice) and Columbia.
