  1. Hi there, Unless you want to apply for permanent residency in Quebec, you actually don’t need to be proficient in French. You can apply for PR through Express Entry with one year work experience from another province. The most common route students use to attain PR is [go to school in any province] -> [move to province of choice] -> [get one year work experience to become PR eligible] -> [apply for PR through Express Entry]. Studying in Quebec has no bearing on the process. Applying for PR is Quebec is generally more difficult and takes longer so most people just don’t do it. Also, you can return to Quebec after getting PR in another province.
  2. Don’t know if anyone here applied to McGill’s Occupational Health and Safety program, but I got an email yesterday saying they’ll be recommending me for admission. Stats: got my undergrad in Bio from a Canadian uni, 3.7 CGPA although I graduated a few years ago. In 2018, went back to take one course at the uni I graduated from and was lucky to get a 4.0 in that course. Worked for 3 Fortune 500 companies since graduation in an industry totally unrelated to Health and Safety or Bio. So happy as I didn’t think I stood a chance since I was told by the department that the program is very competitive, accepting fewer than 10 people every year.
