  1. I did not get a separate confirmation, but from this paragraph in the e-mail, I kind of assumed that my application would be complete (after I sent my list): Once we receive this list from you, your application will be complete. Our admissions decisions are not typically made until sometime in March. You will be notified by e-mail once a decisions has been made regarding your application. Of course, I'm sure checking with them is acceptable.
  2. I applied, all I've gotten is an e-mail asking for a list of professors I'd like to work with and basically a confirmation that says my application would be complete (once I sent in my list)...this was maybe a month ago? But I didn't list specific professors in my SOP, only research groups, so maybe that's why.
  3. @Antonio, my permanent address is in the southeast. Maybe NY'ers are being notified later, since they don't have to travel as far for interviews? @gradwoes, I listed my current mailing address as my permanent address...mail has a habit of getting lost where I'm at (or taking months to arrive), so I didn't list my current overseas address on my application.
  4. I got my response via normal mail, though I'm not sure when it actually arrived (currently living overseas, they mailed it to my permanent address in the states). I think less than a week ago...haha, I must have been really far below the cut if I'm one of the earlier ones to get rejected! Anyways, like you guys said, info is scarce. These are the two best sources I found--a Med School specific forum (lots of med school winners in general), and a single blog entry: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=577719 http://chiangmaichic.blogspot.com/2008/02/soros.html Hope this helps. As the sites say, practice practice practice if you get an interview. Good luck!
  5. If it helps, I've already been rejected, so no news is probably good news for you. The letter said 1009 applicants this year for the 30 spots...I found one or two blogs online that talked about it, and people said they were called about interviews in late Dec (to be scheduled for late Jan), so probably this week. Good luck! Interviews sound in-depth and serious (interviewers are past winners).
  6. Sent you a PM with some details...
  7. Honestly, I think every school / program prescreens somehow as applications come in--if nothing else, to lighten their workload after the deadline. Especially if schools are getting record numbers of applicants, they won't want to delay everything and get into a crunch (just like we all hate waiting until March / April to find out, they don't want to review a thousand apps in a two-week span). However, I'm sure if a program doesn't have an official rolling admission, decisions aren't final until after the deadline (so TPP is probably waiting to put their full cohort together). What does that mean for us with regards to TPP? No clue...hopefully we're all on their "hot prospect" list and they're just looking for the final one or two students to fill it out...
  8. I also applied and am just sitting here waiting...I half wonder if they got fewer applications than expected (or fewer quality applications...), since the application has been extended two weeks til the end of Dec.
  9. How do you guys have the energy to apply to so many schools? 1 dream, 1 reach, 1 safety for me...
  10. I am also interested in technology policy, and I would second lolwat's suggestion on GA Tech's MPP. Carnegie Mellon has their Master's of Science in Policy and Science Management (or EPP if you want a PhD), and George Washington has their Master's of Arts in International Science & Technology if you want to be close to DC. Am curious to see what people think of all these schools, as well?
