Yes maybe they would know. I think since results were released yesterday that would know by now. So sorry this is happening and I am hoping you have good luck with the results!!
-
Yes, there should be tab under my applications that says "check application status". That is weird yours does not show that. Mine also said in peer review before the award results were posted. Yours says completed by applicant. Are you a direct applicant?
-
Yes, that's how you were ranked from the top. So the lower the ranking the higher. They funded 104/418 for committee A and 73/290 for B. If you ranked within these numbers you were funded.
-
First time applying, got it! But was funded through the priority announcement: infection and immunity - committee A. Barely made the cut off though. Thanks for all the support on this thread! And those of you who did not get funded should keep trying as I have been rejected from multiple other awards but just kept trying year after year!

I can't get on. It keeps crashing
-
I agree. Maybe tomorrow or even next week
-
Yes, that's what I have heard. They will email to check the results and the status will have changed in ResearchNet.
-
I have a feeling the results will not be released today. Do you guys think it matters that SSHRC results are being released today? Since CIHR uploads to ResearchNet I don't see how this is a problem.
-
Do they upload the results in ResearchNET? Mine says "In Peer Review". Or a separate letter is mailed?
-
I am really starting to wonder if we will hear back tomorrow?
-
I think I am going to wait until the end of this week since they said results will be released by the end of April. I am going to email my department and maybe CIHR if we do not hear back by Thursday.
-
No one in my department has heard either. I also do not see any posts on Twitter so I think they haven't notified anyone else yet.
-
Looks like the CIHR post doc awards were announced today. Anyone heard about a date or anything for the doctoral ones yet?
-
Oh wow that's amazing! Yes, unfortunately I am in the biomedical committee and I heard it is very competitive. It is hard to not get upset about these awards and relate this to future success of post docs, grants etc I saw the university nomination quota for this year was 750 and I am guessing 100 or so get funded?
-
I've been trying to find estimates for this and sadly CIHR is much more competitive. I have seen 11-13% for the success rate. Whereas with NSERC PGS-D I see estimates between 40-45%. Chances are I will not get this but would be nice to know so I can move on.

I think you can only apply a few times since you cannot have completed: have completed no more than 24 months of full-time study in their doctoral program by December 31 of the year of application (no more than 36 months if transferred directly from Bachelors to a PhD or enrolled in a joint program, e.g., MD/PhD, MA/PhD); The months of study completed are calculated starting from the date on which an applicant is officially registered in the doctoral program; this also applies to applicants: registered in a Master’s program and subsequently transferred to a doctoral program (fast-track); or registered in a doctoral program, even if a Master’s degree is obtained as part of the program (e.g., MA/PhD). I guess it depends on when you started?
-
Hmmm I think you are right. But then when I look at the award notification it says it should have already occurred? Does anyone know where it confirms this is delayed? I am worried if they are announcing the post doc ones then the cgsd might get pushed further. Mid February, 2020 Anticipated notification of results. Applicants will be notified by email when the results are available on ResearchNet.
-
It says they got postponed to June 1 on the CIHR website. So maybe we will hear back then?
-
No idea about reviews and rankings. The CIHR masters awards came out on April 15th at 5am PST (posted to their portal). They got an an email back in mid March saying their release date of results would be delayed from April 1 to 15th. Someone in my lab received this and this is why I know. They have not indicated any delays for CGSD. All they say is April I cannot even focus on studying for my exam right now.
-
Have not heard of anyone hearing back yet.
-
Looks like we will have to wait for next week
-
It depends on your ranking in your committee. This will have be through NSERC as that's where you applied. It also depends on how you ranked in your committee as only the top applicants can qualify for CGSD. This is my first year applying.
-
Oh I see what you mean. Yes, sounds like if someone who got CGSD declines/downgrades, you can possibly move up depending on the ranking in your selection committee of your NSERC application.
-
I do not think you can change it if it is PGS without applying again to either NSERC and ranking higher or to CIHR (difference selection committees).

Has anyone heard anything today?
