Hi! As the title suggests, I was accepted to both the University of Washington's MSW program and to Santa Clara University's MA in Counseling Psychology program. My end goal is to be a therapist. I was initially having a hard time choosing between the MSW and the MFT when I was applying to schools, and so I decided to apply to both programs and just see where I got in. Well, now I have to make the decision! I'm slightly leaning toward UW because the MSW seems a little more flexible and versatile than the MFT, but I am still going back and forth between the programs. My one worry with the MSW is that I might not get enough training to feel competent as a therapist. Any advice on these specific programs or the MSW vs. MFT debate would be greatly appreciated!
