The question is how can we better our application for next year when we just have 6 months to improve? I am sure GRE will not be required again.

Do you guys have any insights on re-applying?

I thought GRE is a requirement?

Is the GRE a required part of the application?
Due to limitations caused by COVID-19, the GRE is optional for applicants to the online Ed.M. for fall 2020 enrollment. All applicants for enrollment in the 2021-2022 academic year are required to take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test. Doctor of Education Leadership (Ed.L.D.) applicants ONLY may choose to submit GMAT scores in lieu of GRE scores.

I don't want to complain, but I honestly feel being professionally discriminated against here in the US due to its system. Prior to my relocation to the USA 5 years ago, I always felt at the top of my game and ready to change the world (I had won multiple scholarships, awards, and got in prestigious programs). Then I entered the USA on a spousal visa and was barred from working for 5 years. I tried to compensate for the employment gaps by creating hugely successful projects that have helped change the mentality and advance skills of the young generations of my home country. Also, I've written 9 award-winning books that have been used in national high school leaving exams. Still, when I apply for job opportunities in the US, I hardly ever get a response or an invitation for an interview, even though I've previously worked for companies and universities in Europe, Asia, and Canada. That's why I've applied for a master's degree at Harvard, hoping that having a master's degree from the US would help me restart my career. But the rejection letter from Harvard makes me feel completely hopeless.

I am sad too. But don't give up!!  This rejection letter is not your end story

I am not giving up. I am applying this fall :)

Question about your rejection letter. Did they encourage you to apply again and stay connected? I'm wondering if the rejection letter is a standard template sent to everyone or if they took a bit of time to differentiate the rejections (even if they cut and paste different statements)? In the end, I know it does not matter much, everyone is talented who applied, but it might cheer me up a bit if they truly want me to apply again ?

Yes, it encouraged me to apply again and stay connected. It might be the standard template.

Hi everyone. I have some news from the GSE admission team!

I wrote to them on a personal matter, but was able to get this line from them and thought it would be helpful sharing it in this forum, just to reduce anxiety.

"Thank you for your email. All applicants will receive their admissions decision by August 1st. Applicants will be notified via email when their admission decision is available."

Hope it helps, and good luck to you all, I'm applying for the TIE program! ?

Thanks for sharing! I will be looking for the email tmrw.

I had a dream about admission last night. Finally, tonight will be the last night of the painful waiting.

Hey guys! Fingers crossed for decisions soon!!! I applied to TIE - I'm wondering if anyone has asked about access to specialized tech tools or software during the year? Typically, I think there's access to media labs and/or professional level software on campus - they obviously can't recreate everything online, but has anyone asked whether we might get access to software at least?

Hello Rachel!! Another TIE applicant!!!! Did you apply for full time or part time?

I have been following this forum closely since the application first opened and it helps in dealing with the suspense and dread of the wait lol!

I applied to the HDP program and have about 7 years experience as a public educator. I've also been volunteering for longer with low-income and at-risk kids in my city. My GPA in undergrad was a poor 2.7, but my credentialing program entailed full time student teaching for a year with a full time load of classes at night everyday and I earned a 3.89, so I'm hoping that demonstrates what I'm truly capable of (I had some family issues around a death that led to a severe drop in grades over two quarters during my undergrad).

It seems like time's going slower as we approach Friday!

Good luck to you all and I hope you all the very best! Thanks for keeping me company! :D

Dont worry about your GPA...It's only part of the application:) Your experience sounds amazing.

I am extremely anxious...Can I say I haven't been able to sleep well this week....

Good question. I was wondering if TIE would offer students the opportunity to join live online learning sessions in Elementary or Middle School as I am interested to observe student level of engagement and observe how assessments are done.

Same here. It's an interesting era to apply TIE.

I thought that may be so at first, but considering how new of a program is and how fast the application cycle was, I don’t think it will be too “hot.” Fingers crossed !

Me too. I don't see many TIE applicants on this forum yet.

Hi! I applied to TIE full-time as well. Most of my experience is in education but not much experience in technology.

Hi thank you for the message!!! I think your experience in education would just be sufficient to apply TIE.

I am wondering if TIE would be hot this year due to the covid-19 -  classroom teaching transformation to online learning.

I have also applied to TIE, part-time. I have a little over a year of experience in the tech and health sciences industries. Good luck!

    Thank you for the message!
Did you just graduate? I got my B.A in 2016.

  11. Any other folks who applied TIE?

I applied TIE(technology innovation and education), full time.

I have 2 years experience in ed tech company as project manager. 3 years of experience in finance and accounting prior to ed tech.

My undergrad GPA is low - 3.34.
