  1. Hey there. Application deadlines for a few universities where I'd love to go are creeping up and I haven't made much progress. Going through a bit of a crisis right now especially since my profile isn't especially strong for finance. So I'd appreciate any advice on the kinds of universities I'm applying to and whether I should even bother, wait a year or do something else entirely. Targets: Saïd Business School (Oxford), HEC Paris, ESSEC, University of St Gallen, Bocconi University, University of Mannheim (for MSBA) Background: 25, Male, Pakistani citizen. Bachelors in Accounting and Finance from, arguably, the best university in the country. CGPA: 3.86/4. Dean's Honour List. Work Experience: This is where my profile derails completely. Business Planning Analyst at The Coca-Cola Company for a year and a half. Assistant Brand Manager at Procter & Gamble for three months. Quit at the onset of Covid due to some personal reasons. Currently unemployed. I'm leery about putting P&G on my CV despite having two half-decent projects but it's so non-finance that I don't even know if I should bother. GRE: 328. 165 Verbal. 163 Quant. I'm kind of disappointed considering I did amazingly well on practice tests but couldn't translate that into actual results. So the advice I need is whether I should tone down my aspirations (I sure as hell don't think this app is Oxford-worthy) and apply to universities I have a better shot of getting in? Should I try and give GMAT as soon as possible to try and improve on my okay GRE score? Should I go back to the job market in a more finance role and apply next year? Any sort of advice would be highly appreciated.
