I have a 3.82 and I didn’t either ?.. I thought I’d at least get an interview. I am just wondering how the waitlist works..why would anyone cancel an interview considering acceptances for other unis  are sent out in April. Has anyone contacted them regarding a waitlist?

I have a 3.81 and didn’t either! Also thought I’d get an interview... all we can do is wait and see for now! ?

I think this has already been discussed but I just don't have the energy to find it again - I just caught an error in my GPA calculation on ORPAS. How long has it taken them up update errors in calculations for others? My fault for not noticing it sooner, but I'm a little nervous with Mac interview offers being sent out as soon as tomorrow

Hey! I messaged SAM on Wednesday night about my error and it was fixed by midday on Thursday. I hope it works out!!

That makes sense. So the assumption is they won't send it until all fall grades are finalized? Because technically the term is complete, only the grades are not.

Yes I believe so! Selecting immediately will send your transcript regardless if your fall grades are in for the term (which is not what we want). Selecting "end of term fall" will include your fall 2020 grades. I was also confused about it earlier - I'm waiting on some grades too!

    Good luck! :D

    Hi hi!

Quick question (probably for those who have applied already) - How soon is "send immediately" for transcripts being sent through ORPAS? My concern is that my grades for one of my courses won't be finalized until around Jan. 15. I'm worried that the transcripts will be sent while the grades are still "in progress."

Anybody know anything about this? TIA! And good luck everyone!

I think you should put “end of term-fall”  so all your grades get in (hope that’s right)!

HI! I put "PAID" before the description. I guess the question is if we'll be penalized by U of T for putting this information in. Has anyone reached out directly to ask about this? My hope is the U of T will just ignore the entries that say "paid" instead of penalizing the application (or better yes, look favourably at it....)

Yes I hope not! I would be quite unfair since Western allows it.

    Hi everyone,

for those applying to both UofT and Western, can you please advise on how you entered your work/volunteer experiences in the Volunteer Section on ORPAS? UofT explicitly said to ONLY include volunteer experiences while Western allows paid experiences as well. But ORPAS is streamlined (the volunteer section is the same for both schools). I’m not sure how to just include volunteer experiences for UofT but paid + volunteer experiences for Western. Please help an anxious applicant out! Thank you so much!

Hi there! I'm in the same boat as you. I'm not sure if this is helpful, but someone further up mentioned that they added in "paid" in one of the slots for that position. If anyone knows anything more, please share!

    Hello Everyone,

I am also applying for the first time this year. I have a subGPA of 3.64 and I am planning to apply to UBC and Western. I would honestly prefer to be admitted into UBC as I live close to Vancouver, but I will take whatever I can get! I am super nervous reading through all these posts, you all seem so smart, accomplished and great and I'm starting to question whether my grades and application will be good enough! I decided to pursue SLP very last minute so I have didn't have any volunteer experience although I was planning on acquiring some this year (COVID totally ruined those plans). But, I am currently doing some virtual volunteering with a private clinic. I know Western has eliminated the clinical hours for this years application but I still felt like some exposure into the field would be helpful. This is all so overwhelming and I think I'm slowly loosing my mind! With that being said, I wish everyone good luck for their applications!

Hi there! I actually think it's great you have virtual volunteer experience! With everything going on, I think you can play up this opportunity you have right now. I know my instructor who is an SLP has mentioned that it would be great to get telepractice/virtual therapy experience, as it is really important for the field at the moment. I hope this gives you more encouragement, as I think you have something interesting and very relevant to the health situation to maybe talk about in your personal statement!

  8. Hi, does anyone know how the referee system works? As in, when referees receive the email from orpas, are they submitting separate letters for each school; does each school have different requirements or separate academic forms; or is it one form and letter that they submit that all schools (that accept references) will see?

Hey, does anyone know what the extra space for "course description website details" is for in the prerequisites section? I feel like this is the first time I'm seeing it.

I found the websites for my prereqs (like the course calendar) and input the description of the course on the website into that space. Most of them didn't fit with the character count, so I had to modify it. I hope this is what we are supposed to do, but if I'm wrong please correct me!
