  1. P.S. I have already turned in all of my applications and have been admitted to a program. I was not intentionally attempting to not disclose--with the wording of the question, I had assumed that it was only reserved for very serious things, and this is not on my transcript (though it is on my University conduct record).
  2. Hey friends! I just wanted to come to y'all for help because I'm (very) distressed about something. My freshman year of undergrad, I was caught by an RA for drinking at a party. Naturally, I had to go to a conduct meeting, and only received (it was an honest, first-year student mistake) meetings with a counselor and attending a one-time session. There is nothing on my transcript or permanent record, but there is something on my conduct record if someone (like a graduate school) asks. I assumed that the disciplinary sanctions section on the applications were for large things like probation, suspension (I have never been on any of these and have never been accused of academic integrity) and so I did not think it was necessary to put these on the discipline sections. Is this going to come back to bite me? I understand that graduate schools (I'm applying to Chem) can ask for your school records, and if they did ask me after checking, I would be up front and honest. I have definitely grown from the experience, serving both as an RA and a University Ambassador. I'd love some (very honest) input! I've lost sleep over this
  3. I'm pretty scared, as it's a pretty well-known method in my specific subfield, and I think that the PI's I applied to definitely know what it is...
  4. Hi friends, I am posting because I realized I may have made a deadly typo on my SOP that I have already submitted to 11 different schools (applying to Chemistry/Chemical Physics, specifically electronic structure theory). I am talking about my senior thesis on the Pariser-Parr-Pople (PPP) method and the novel application I am doing onto a certain class of molecules. However, I just noticed that I had accidentally written "Parr-Pariser-Pople", switching up two of the names (they all start with P). I don't know how I didn't catch this in any of my drafts, and I don't want the adcoms to think that I'm incredibly stupid/fake/don't know what I'm doing. I'm super upset about this and don't know what to do--do you think that I just ruined my chances to all of these schools? Please send your honest opinions/message me--I don't know what to do with myself.

  6. Hi everyone, I'm posting because I'm super anxious about something that recently just happened. I'm applying to 12 schools (Chemistry PhD) and have submitted 9 of them already. However, I just remembered that I took two dual credit classes (in the humanities, with A's in both) at a local technical college during my senior year of high school four years ago. This slipped my mind during the application process and I only submitted my transcript from my undergraduate institution, and now I am in panic about being rejected/accused of academic dishonesty when it was a mistake. I've already contacted all nine of the schools a few hours ago (two of them have gotten back to me and told me I was fine), but I am still very scared that this will negatively affect me. What should I do? Will this jeopardize my application?
