In my opinion, you don't have to state what are your future plans. I would, instead, stress on that you are seriously interested in finishing their program and strongly motivated to pursue your studies and obtain a PhD. They are looking for people who want to work hard for low income, and the most important thing is that you really want to hold a PhD. Nobody will ask you if you want to become a professor or what.
Hi there!
I am going to apply to a PhD for F2011 and this summer I'll go visit the city of my top choice grad school.
I would like to meet in person with some professors (3-4 in the same department) I would love to work with, but don't know how to approach them.
It would be fantastic if could meet with all them on the same day...but what should I write in my email? Should I mention I will meet with other profs in the same dept? I was thinking to send them an email, one week-10 days prior my arrival in the city, stating my interest in their research and introducing myself with my CV..
I am an international student .
Thank you guys for all your suggestions!!!
W.
