  1. I got this same email for a second time this morning.
  2. The cuts are $15 million this year and $30 million next year. NSERC has a $ 1 billion budget (!). However, all depends on where the agency decides to cut spending.
  3. Got my award letter in Montreal for a CGS-M, dated March 30, sent April 3 (electronic stamp).
  4. To be precise, I see 285 here (5% drop). http://www.nserc-crsng.gc.ca/_doc/Students-Etudiants/CompStat-StatConcours_eng.pdf
  5. There's also the possibility that if the letters are mailed today or tomorrow, people in the West won't get them until next week because of the Easter break.
  6. I think it's normal to not receive our letters today, for people in Montreal or Ottawa. Did you expect NSERC (the government) to be so efficient as to print and mail the letters the day after the budget was disclosed ?
  7. The results will be announced at the end of April. The answer to your other question should be in the rules here: http://www.fqrnt.gouv.qc.ca/bourses/regles/pdf_lettres/2012-2013/ReglesB3_ang.pdf
  8. We should remember that some people here were told by NSERC that the letters would be mailed after the budget. We shouldn't jump to conclusions about our individual statuses.
  9. Maybe they want to keep an aura of formality.
  10. That's probably not the case. (Lucky) People in Ottawa will get their results first because the letters are mailed in that city.
  11. Everyone can find the Canada Post delivery standards from Ottawa to their city here : http://www.postescanada.ca/tools/pg/manual/images/1000PGservstds-e.13.1.4.jpg The date of mailing was most likely last Friday, so Monday (today) counts as Day 1.
  12. That's interesting... EIther the left hand doesn't know what the right one is doing (see posts #157 and 193) or someone got his notification from an unofficial channel.
  13. Especially not this year, since the government has asked every ministry to provide two scenarios for budget cuts (5% or 10%).
  14. For those of you looking for further confirmation, here is an excerpt from the latest NSERC Contact Newsletter dated February 2012: (Nothing new here) http://www.nserc-crsng.gc.ca/Students-Etudiants/Contact-Contact_eng.asp#3
  15. Ah, The Ides of March...
