I'm in the same place with a different lab at a different school. I've just assumed I've been rejected at this point and made plans to apply again next year... -

If it's true what the person on the results page says-- kind of sucks that Harvard doesn't even consider applicants outside of their own pool. I get that they get money from applications but why let people apply if you're not even going to interview anyone outside of your current labs...? I'm not too salty about my reject because I knew it was a long shot but didn't realize it was "literally impossible and not worth applying"-level. Maybe applying to clinical psych in general is like that though... -

The thing is— getting a masters costs money. You get paid to get a PhD (even if it’s not much.) -

Oh friend, I have 4,000+ unread emails, another one doesn't surprise me anymore. At least these are from people that know I exist, as opposed to the donation department of my undergrad which just sends me mass emails asking for money. Plus I'm praying for a phone call more than an email at this point. I feel like phone calls are more likely to be an acceptance. -

Anyone know someone with non traditional background? Looking at these professors, they all got a BS in psych or neuro, a masters in clinical (usually) and a PhD in clinical psych. I majored in Bio with some post-bacc RA experience/authorship, stats, cs, and neuro credits— but I’ve also been teaching HS bio for years at this point. I know I have some insight into adolescents and a decent thesis idea because of my experience but out of all the programs I’ve seen, I’ve found only one professor (at Harvard) that was a teacher before getting a PhD. Am I delusional or just rare? (I’m first gen too, so that doesn’t help with the imposter syndrome ?) -
