  1. Hey all! Just wanted to reach out to everyone to see if anyone was looking for housing in Ottawa for the fall. I’ll be starting as an NPSIA student and it would be nice to room with someone who’s in the same field! Do send me a message if you’re interested
  2. Officially just got the acceptance from NPSIA!!! thank you to everyone on this thread for keeping it updated and keeping my hopes up throughout this long process! Can’t wait to see some of you there, and good luck to those of you still waiting!
  3. Just skipped from preliminary review required to Review in Progress by Department!! Things are moving!
  4. Nope, nothing yet! But happy for you that it changed! Does anyone know if Carleton sends rejections letters? I’m kind of wondering if it’ll just be stuck at preliminary review required forever, and then receive a rejection letter.
  5. I’m still at preliminary review required ?? anyone else?
  6. Congratulations! That’s wonderful news. If you don’t mind me asking, how did the status of your application progress in terms of going through “preliminary review required” and the rest?
  7. I prefer NPSIA! I personally just find that NPSIA has a lot more courses directed specifically at what I want to specialize in (int’l development) There’s also a particular professor I would really love to work with.
  8. I’m also still at Preliminary Review Required Lula83 said she emailed Lauren to make sure everything was still on track. Her info is on the NPSIA website under the FAQ MA admissions. I’m sure though that as she said, everything’s okay though! Let us know what she replies if you do contact her.
  9. I’m really hoping that being on “preliminary review required” for so long isn’t a bad sign. Apparently not according to previous threads but it feels like it is lol still hoping for the best though
  10. It’s on both! I wish I knew how they sort through applications.
  11. Ah, I know!! I thought I’d have a decision by now and I’m still stalling on “preliminary review required”.
  12. I accepted today! And I’m still waiting on NPSIA ??
  13. Me too!! I’m wondering if they’re doing international students later? Do you know if they have limited spots for international students, or do they consider us equally? This preliminary review required business is driving me a little crazy. I have to accept GSPIA today because my deadline is tomorrow. I was sure I’d be at least in the second stage by now for NPSIA ?
  14. Is anyone else applying to NPSIA as an international student?
  15. In their FAQ for admissions, it says: “The admissions committee will review files after the January 31 deadline. Assessment time depends on the number of applications received, but we aim to have admission decisions out to first round applicants by early March. Second round offers are distributed on a rolling basis until August 31.“ I guess the latest we hear back is end of March? Hope it doesn’t come to that lol
  16. I’m also at Preliminary Review Required ? does anyone know what they mean by early March, and I guess when the latest we’d hear back by is?
  17. Yeah, this preliminary review required stage is killer. I feel like in previous years forums the stages were changing at this point, and thus far most of us are stuck at the first one? It makes me think it’ll go straight to admissions decisions, or just take longer.
  18. I’m also doing NPSIA first because of their courses and faculty, and GPSIA second. I would have loved to apply to Munk but again the prices were just ridiculous compared to the other options. Even if I had applied to Munk though, it probably would have been NPSIA first, Munk second, and GPSIA third.
  19. I’m also still stuck at preliminary review required! Hopefully we see some change soon !
  20. I also just got into GSPIA! I didn’t get an email! I just checked online and it said status “admitted”. Good luck everyone!!
  21. Does anyone know/have any guesses if there’s going to be more/less/the same amount of applicants than usual because of Covid? I’ve heard several guesses but I can’t help but think it might somehow influence the numbers. Also, going to share my stats to help make this wait a little less grueling: went to undergrad in the US, but I’m an international student from Mexico, so speak native Spanish, English, and fluent level French. My GPA is a 10/12 Carleton scale, 3.7/A- and I’m straight out from undergrad. Don’t have any international experience, but do have experience with immigration NGOs. Im interested in the development track. Anyone else want to share their specialization interest? Again, good luck everyone!
  22. Finished my application too! Good luck everyone!
  23. I applied to NPSIA and GSPIA! Good luck everyone!
