The waiting is killing me, I just want to know! I know their deadline seems to be March 15, but in the past it looks like its even come a day or two earlier.  Anyone know the acceptance rates?

Their website says 12-15% acceptance rate! That's with a normal year though... applications are up at all prestigious universities!

ay I knowww?.. I had the hope that the growth of applications was  just speculation and it wouldn't be that bad... but it must have been huge for them to actually write it.  Now 0 hope and the anxiety rocketed to the moooon

Any ideas why there's such an influx of applications this year?

  3. Hi all, my parent has worked a blue collar job at an ivy league university for 20+ years. I applied to a graduate program at this university, and it is highly competitive (I believe a 15% acceptance rate). My stats aren't fantastic, but I was accepted to another competitive program with generous aid, so I'm feeling I might have a shot. Any idea if your parent working at a university is taken into consideration by the admissions team? I mentioned this in the documents I submitted.

    Stats:

    GRE Quant/Verbal/Writing: 154/158/4.5

GPA: 3.2, Small Private Liberal Arts School, Political Science/International Affairs with minors in Hispanic Studies and Philosophy

4 years work experience: lobbying internship at a big tech company right out of college, 3 years in support role at prestigious international economics organization, 1 year in health policy research at a university

Both my decision and funding letters were just posted to my portal, but that was for MPP, so maybe DSPP funding will come out later? Also, my funding only listed information for the first two semesters, and Georgetown's site says that offers are decided on a year-to-year basis and aren't necessarily renewable. Does anyone have more information about that? They gave me a good offer for the first year, but I wouldn't want to accept it and then find out they're not offering me anything for the second year.

Same on my end - it's my understanding the funding is renewable as long as you maintain good academic standing (3.0+).
