  1. Does anyone want to take one for the team and call Northwestern? It seems strange that there were only the three acceptances this morning and then silence, unless NU admits are more internet-avoidant than the average 20-something.
  2. So any inside info on whether Chicago is done w/ admits and waitlists?
  3. Chicago, Chicago...when will you notify? I saw on the results page that Social Thought is notifying, and political science is like, right next door, right? Plus, it seems like half the patrons of this board have applied, so decisions would keep so many of us occupied. So many incentives to spill it, Chicago.
  4. Oh yeah, but that's just their cash cow terminal MA program, and the department isn't affiliated with it and doesn't decide the funding for it. I thought the OP was referring to PhD admits being unfunded. I don't think that's been true since around '07.
  5. I'm pretty sure Chicago's policy is to fully fund all incoming grad students in all departments, at least since a couple years ago: http://www.chicagomaroon.com/2007/2/13/ ... tudent-aid
  6. My email said they were "in the process of putting together a multi-year package in order to help fund your graduate study" and would send me specifics soon. I think someone else on the results page also got that email. Not sure what it means exactly, but it sounds like they are notifying both the funded and unfunded people. I wouldn't worry yet though; they seem to have a pretty big cohort and so far only a few people have posted news here.
  7. Not sure if this is what you're referring to, but I heard from faculty that CST at Chicago can only admit three students this year b/c of budget cuts where they usually admit 7-8.
  8. But that still means they're accepting more than that, right? Assuming fewer people will matriculate than are admitted?
  9. You can take my funding. I doubt I will go, though I like the department a lot. Texas is so far, and I have some options closer to home.
  10. Nothing on my status page has changed despite the email notification.
  11. UPenn is emailing decisions, although I don't recall too many applicants to that program here.
  12. Does this mean you are a Straussian and have met all the Straussians? (Not intended to be snide; just wondering.)
  13. I'm almost certain that the 9500 refers to the grad school as a whole. There probably aren't even 10,000 people applying to history grad school in the entire US this cycle.
  14. Don't know how helpful this will be, but I got an acceptance from Yale in another dept. by email today and nothing on my web status has changed yet.
  15. See guys, you should not naysay my unsubstantiated rumors.
  16. I also applied to ND for theory and got the same email. No word from anywhere yet, and none expected until the end of Feb. Our lives are hard.
  17. My application changed to "completed" when the last part of my file was marked as received. It doesn't mean anything. Breathe.
  18. A friend who applied was told early next week by a prof in the dept. It's secondhand info, hence "word on the street," but it does match up w/ last year's notification dates, which also hovered around Feb. 11-13.
