From what I understand, there is a timed deadline (ie. 4pm) to let universities know your decision. I've heard of many people being offered a spot off waitlists 4/15 during the evening as well as the next day or so!

I posted this on Friday and I just received an unofficial acceptance email from my PI. I have been crying tears of joy for the past hour. this is my third cycle trying and I’m so glad I never gave up. I am beyond excited for this. I want to make my kids proud! please please don’t give up! Even if you don’t get in this round, so what..start now getting things together and ready for next cycle! please pm me if you have any questions/feedback/tips, anything!!!!

I broke down and emailed my PI (waitlist) yesterday and she warmly responded back saying I am the next to be offered a spot with a few outstanding initial offers still out there. My fingers are crossed so tight. I'm a 31 year old single mom and I don't think I can take another cycle of this ? these next 2.5 weeks are going to do me in, I can feel it! Good luck everyone!!

Have you heard anything from OU?

Received official rejection from OSU- portal was updated around noon yesterday. I expected it, it's been radio silence from them since I applied. Has anyone heard anything from Ohio University?

Am I the only one who immediately checks all the applicant portals as soon as they wake up? I wonder if applicant portals are updated throughout the day, or just once a day? Anxiety much! lol

I'm so sorry to hear this. I only applied to one program last year and also was rejected. I honestly had not clue that people applied to so many programs at once (it seems too expensive) I did apply to 3 programs this round and I'm hoping at least one pays off. I wish you luck in your future endeavors- something will work out for you!!

On another random note, why are some users noted as "decaf," and some as "caffeinated?" lol I'm assuming it must have something to do with the amount of activity you have on this site?

I have heard back from Ohio U- I had an interview at the beginning of January. I reached back out last week for an update and was told we should hear something by the end of this week.

The grief is definitely starting to seep into this thread lets all hold our heads high! We've got this *with watery eyes*

I'm totally with you. I work as a project manager on several projects and it's incredibly hard to stay focused smh I hate how much i'm looking at my phone, I literally can not stay focused. I, too, love research and could honestly not see myself doing anything else. It sucks if we don't get in this round because that literally means we have to wait another year to possibly go through this again (only the strong survive though, right? ? ) I wouldn't even mind as much if we could apply in like June/july as well as December, that would make it a little easier. Its also the dauntingness of having to AGAIN ask professors and colleagues to submit LORs. This is my 3 cycle and I honestly wouldn't feel comfortable asking my recommenders again, im sure they're thinking "if you haven't gotten in by now, maybe do something else " idk so many thoughts...good luck, friend!

reached out to OSU (non-clinical psyc) yesterday and heard back this morning. Was told that they will post admission results the first week of February and will most likely not conduct interviews. Fingers still crossed!!

Would it be frowned upon to send the PI I interviewed with (early last week) a quick email requesting an update? my work morale is so low due to this

Has anyone heard back from Ohio University? I had a zoom interview last week and I’m starting to freak out...how long does it take for a program to let you know their decision?

My Ohio State application is still saying "pending," I guess I'm assuming rejection seeing as though acceptance letters have been sent out? Also, has anyone heard from Ohio university or Miami university (Ohio)??
