I've been accepted into New Mexico State's Masters Sociology program for Fall 2022. I'm looking forward to it. However the more I try to get a better understanding of the professors and the school, I am starting to second guess my decision to accept their offer. I've read some really bad reviews about the professor that leads the graduate program and how they teach some of the courses. It scares me. Also the whole program in general has very little social media marketing to help share more about themselves. The reason I applied there was because they have a professor that is researching what I actually want to study and will have a chance to work with them. I only applied to two schools and the other one didn't accept me because they didn't have enough faculty researching my interests at the present time. Am I being too critical of a school based on what I see on the surface and not giving it a fair chance? Why does the updated webpage and social media marketing draw me in more than the simple research? Does anyone else have this issue?

Hey, I'm just curious about budgeting for budgeting for graduate school. I've researched the stipend and the taxes and insurance taken out as well as my basic expenses for one of my top choice schools. I would need to work an additional part time to help with the rest of the expenses. So I was curious what have others done for this. How have you made extra money while also having the time to study?

I was in an undergraduate program where only 1 professor had me do any serious research paper and their page limit was 10 pages. I was not an honors students so I didn't have the opportunity to do any research outside of that. My question is can I submit a combination of a 2 or 3 different writing samples that are about 3-4 pages long for graduate school application? I may have some 10 page research papers for my associates degree but I think the admissions committee would rather my undergraduate, and those papers are 5-6 years old, my programs' papers are less than 3 years old.
