  1. For a friend not on here, has anyone heard back from University of Maryland College Park post-interview??
  2. I have my MS in neuroscience, but I did a clinical research thesis! I also am only interested in neuropsychology, so this still fit in well with my plan. Happy to answer any other questions!
  3. I see that some people are posting that they received a rejection via email from UCSD/SDSU JDP? Anyone on here receive that? Just curious whether it was personal or mass email. Thanks!
  4. I have a masters in neuroscience and I still only got three invites, out of the 11 schools I applied to. I spent so much time trying to find appropriate PIs as well, but I unfortunately am focused on a really specific field, which I'm assuming definitely contributed to my lack of invites. So unless you just do a broad psychology MS, honestly don't know if it is worth it! That being said, the schools I applied to, do actually have the option of using your MS thesis as long as it was empirically driven so it wouldn't necessarily have to be repeated. Also edit to add that I chose to do a MSc because I actually really wanted to study this specific topic- not just to get more research experience for applications. It is a lot of money to spend just to boost an application! Definitely think you can get publications, research experience etc without needing a MSc that is a really hard thing to put on an applicant and I'm sorry that happened to you.
  5. LOL no worries I don’t blame you ? UCSD poster did us dirty ??
  6. Lol if it was BU that was just posted that was me!! Promise it was real ?
  7. Sorry to hear that! Thanks so much for letting us know though!
  8. We applied to the same exact mentors ? haven’t heard anything from BU or WUSTL. I spoke with ACG and she was saying she may not have funding as an FYI! She said she wouldn’t know until after apps were due. As for UF, depends on your PI perhaps? I got an interview, so I’m not sure about the waitlist! Best of luck!
  9. Thanks so much for letting me know!!
  10. Anyone know if USC's affiliated staff sent out invites? I only applied to work with them and freaking out as its my top choice thanks in advance! Also for WSU- anyone with PI MES/MS get an invite?
  11. Um yes I love this and your name lol
  12. I'm so sorry to hear that. It absolutely doesn't change the disappointment and it's impossible not to take it personally (at least for me lol), but so helpful to know we aren't alone!
  13. Hi all, just wanted to throw out some advice that my neuropsychologist coworkers gave me. My one coworker is a very well renown neuropsychologist and she said that at least half the RA's in her lab don't get admitted to clinic psych programs the first round (after working with her for a few years and having pubs). Another neuropsych I work with said that she had to apply twice herself and then she got into Fordham her second round. Depending on your CV, you should be applying to 15+ schools to hedge your bets. She sometimes even recommends 20 or more depending on qualifications. She told me to apply to about 13 and I have a undergrad in neuroscience/psychology with a GPA of 3.7, I have a master's in neuroscience and psychology (joint), I have four publications, two conference presentations and now five years of clinical and academic experience (me actually performing neuropsych evaluations daily). I applied to 11 schools and have gotten two invites. They continually tell me that not getting an invite or getting in, has less to do with me as an applicant, but likely many other scenarios that are unknown. Please don't give up and believe in yourselves! If you don't get in this round, find ways to bulk up your CV and show that you are taking steps to improve areas for the next round. So many people have to apply multiple times. You all are wonderful and kind and keep in mind that we are applying in a pandemic as well! Sending lots of love to everyone during this insanely stressful time!
