  1. Reviving this thread yet again! Who's going to the pub crawl next week?
  2. Hi everyone, trying to revive this thread from the dead! I'm looking for people to talk to who are also attending NPSIA this fall. I'm taking the International Economic Policy stream. Its always nice to have friends in the program before you even start. Please feel free to message me privately if you'd like to become friends!
  3. Yes! Review in Progress by department was my status for 2 weeks. "Review in Progress by Graduate and Post Doctorale Affairs" was my updated status approximately 4 days ago. My specialization was updated yesterday from N/A to my selection. I received the acceptance today.
  4. Just got my acceptance to NPSIA with my first choice stream. Best of luck to those who are waiting!
  5. My specialization choice just changed in Carleton Central, when it was just N/A and "Review in Progress by Department". I think we're finally getting closer to hearing a decision!
  6. Yes, I've been at "Recommended for Assessment" as of late last week. I don't think they're reviewing applications in any particular order
  7. This is misinformation and Gradcafe should really crack down on people posting false information to steer people away from waiting for a response from their school of choice, or to give them anxiety. I had reached out to NPSIA this morning and they have responded to me with the following information: "Hello Hedonism, I took a look online, and I would say that it was false information posted. We also did not have any deferrals from last year (NPSIA does not offer deferrals), and anyone who had declined their offer in 2020 due to covid was asked to reapply this year. Perhaps this person accidently wrote NPSIA instead of another school. I’m glad I could put your anxiety at ease!" So for those who are waiting for a response and see their application stuck at "Prelimary Review Required", please don't worry. Take everything you read on the internet with a grain of salt. Very bizarre your first ever post on Gradcafe was informing potential attendees of a "rejection letter" you had received. Shame on you.
  8. I am so sorry to hear you didn’t get in this year @troyes34. I really do hope you get into somewhere great too! For everyone else who is nervous that they haven’t heard back yet, don’t fret. I did email Carleton today asking why my application has been stuck on “Preliminary review required”, and I was told that they haven’t gone through all of them yet and they will continue to roll out offers through to March. So the line about “all offers have been sent out” may be inaccurate. Don’t give up hope!
  9. Oh totally! Do you know if it gets stuck at "Preliminary review required" if your application doesn't make it past that stage? Or does it say "Rejected"?
  10. I submitted my application on January 20th and I've yet to hear back from NPSIA, still stuck at Preliminary Review Required! GPSIA was so quick to reply...
  11. I really hope so! My application is stuck at "Preliminary Review Required". I'm wondering if anyone has seen some movement?
  12. NPSIA and then GPSIA! I didn't apply for Munk, the prices were far too high, and if I had to be on campus in Toronto I wouldn't be able to continue to work full-time. What about yourself? I'll let you know when I hear back from GPSIA
  13. I emailed them this morning asking for an extension! I'm sure they're aware of the processing times of the other schools, hence the short turn around. ?
  14. I received my acceptance to GPSIA today as well! Good luck everyone, hope it’s good news for you too.
  15. Hey there, I've also applied to NPSIA For the Fall 2021 intake. I may miss the deadline for GPSIA seeing as I'm still waiting for UOttawa to create my account to submit the remaining documents for my application. For anyone who's attended the information session last week, it seems like there is a mélange of different ages and people from various academic and professional backgrounds. As for myself, I am in my late 20s and have an undergrad in commerce and 2 diplomas. I currently work in the federal government in an analyst role. My GPA is 11/12 on the Carleton scale. I'm hoping we can get some stats going because the wait until early March is going to be so nail biting! Good luck everyone
