Congratulations to whoever announced on the main page that you got into USC. Curious to know which program you got a notification from. I noticed that they extended the deadline to February 15.
Thanks for sharing your experience.
I applied for the Specialized Journalism program at SC as well, and have not received a call. When was your call? Did you get the impression it was only a call for the documentary specialization? I applied for something else.
So you two applied to the Data Journ and MS programs at Columbia, which had a deadline of December 15... and just had interviews or have them coming up.
I applied to the MA, which had a deadline 2.5 weeks after that, so I will tell myself not to be concerned that I did not receive a request for an inteview.
Yes, I'm losing my mind.
I applied for the political track at Medill. Haven't heard anything yet. My interview was alright. Fairly straight forward. I actually remarked to my friend that it was basically impossible to read the guy. We both figured that's what he's going for, but that kind of made it difficult to get a vibe going. I usually only feel very strong about interviews when I have an actual vibe with the person. Fine is the word I would use to describe it.
I also applied at Columbia and USC. Political at Columbia. USC I went for a multidisciplinary specialty that is political in nature. They allow you to customize.
Someone posted today that they got an interview with Columbia. Did everyone get interviews already? If you did, was that for the MS or the MA?
Good luck everybody.
Glad to hear there are a few of us here! I see some folks note that they found their admissions decisions for American by logging into the website. Does anyone know what they mean by that? Do these people login to the application portal, and some kind of status change has happened?
Anyone else kind of losing their minds waiting to hear back? Figured I'd start a thread in case anyone else is in the same boat. I applied to five programs... USC, Northwestern, Columbia, American, and UIS, with a politics/policy emphasis. I'd love to chat it up with other applicants, if anyone is out there. Thanks and stay well.
