If they haven’t asked you to respond about your decision, that means you don’t need to respond to your acceptance yet. However, you want to know if you will still be considered after April 15 and if they are still accepting new applications for this fall.

Hey again. I emailed the department coordinator on whether i should respond by the 15th or after it. But so far no response. I emailed her yesterday. Shall I send a reminder or wait till tomorrow and email the HOD?

I would say unless they ask you to respond before April 15th, you won't need to give them an answer. Otherwise, although you are offered with admission but not with funding, and you won't be able to self-fund (which you shouldn't and they should not recommend that), you will just need to hear back from the waitlist consideration after April 15 but before the fall semester starts, usually known as second round.

So after April 15th, there will be a new round during summer? Do you recommend I email the coordinator to see whether I should respond by April 15th or after until a funding position has been opened?

I don't think it will make a difference right now no matter how you contact them because there is no spot available for new considerations at least until 15th. After 15th, you can contact the head of the program and copy your PIs for this inquiry. Also, you want to ask when they will stop considering new admissions for Fall 2021 this year. In addition, you can ask them about any suggestions for the future application. Good luck!

What do you mean "they will stop considering new admissions for Fall 2021 this year" you mean those who are waitlisted for funding do not have to respond by April 15?

I think sometimes, they will even inform you after April 15th because this data was intended for funded students to make their mind. However, the admission may even run through summer.

Do you think I should email the department head about alternative options or on whether they can provide me with a plane? Or shall I wait till the 15th? Maybe I send out an email tomorrow?

  5. So, today I got rejected CU Boulder, after being pushed for weeks to wait for a decision. I am not surprised though. I have one school left which is Florida State but I also have low hopes, they pushed the decision dates till April. Interviews where supposed to be out by the end of Feb/March, but now they are saying they in the middle of rolling admission process. So, I do not know if I will get an interview or maybe there is no interview anymore?

Bitter/sweet news is that I got accepted to Arizona State for PhD in Comm. However, I have been waitlisted for funding. I contacted the school today regarding updates on the TA waitlist and they send that no one has even responded on whether they will accept their offers or not. They have till April 15 to make a decision.

Looking for any info regarding how Arizona State University makes funding decisions!

I finally got the admit letter to the Media Sciences program, however, it does not state anything about tuition remission or TA/RAships. Does anybody have info regarding in which timeframe the school makes these decisions?

Did they tell you have been waitlisted for funding or just got an acceptance with any information related to funding?

    Any updates???

Hey there! I called the department coordinator and he answered. He was shocked to hear my name because their phones has been suspended or something. Then he told me that the decision will be out by the end of the month. I emailed him again and emailed the graduate department two days ago but no response

I am thinking to reach out to the head of the program

  8. Hey everyone. I was hoping to get your advise on whether I should reach out the to chair of the program I am applying to. I have contacted the graduate coordinator and asked him about my application status he said that it will be out within two weeks and that a decision has not been made yet, however, that conversation was over a month ago. I emailed again last week and he said a decision would be out shortly, I thought he meant the same day but he told me no. So I am really anxious and I would like to know the feedback as many students have posted that they have been accepted into the program I am applying too since January.

So, should I email my POI or the department chair?

  9. Hey guys, I heard back from Florida State and they said that they are starting their rolling admissions process and should hear from them by April. However, over a month ago I received an email saying that they will shortlist interview candidates and give decisions out in March. Does that mean there will be interview sent out to those shortlisted in March? Or they already did the interviews and now they are just sending out rejections and acceptances?

  10. Hey everyone, just wanted to ask did anyone hear from Florida State University regarding their Communication PhD program? I have contacted the admission today but I am not getting any response. Shall I email the department coordinator?

P.S. I emailed the department coordinator a month ago and she referred my email to the head of the department who told me that they are shortlisting candidates for an interview and that they will make a decision by March

I also contacted CU Boulder two days ago and yesterday but again no response. Emailed both the graduate admission and the department coordinator.

    Advise anyone?

Hi! I am getting antsy about hearing back, mostly because I want to make a decision. Has anyone heard from Nebraska or Mizzou recently? I am already doing virtual open houses with my accepted programs (UT, CU Boulder, George Mason) but haven't heard a peep from the above schools. I even tried emailing the program director but no dice. Why so late?

Which program at CU Boulder? Is it PhD in Communication? If so, mind I ask you when did you hear an acceptance? And did they already made all their final decisions regarding PhD canddiates?

  12. I feel like today is the day where I will hear from CU Boulder and Florida State. I checked the result timeline for Florida State they give acceptances to PhD candidates mid-March, however, there is an interview and I did not receive an invitation yet. Does anyone know Florida State's process of admission for PhD communication program?

P.S. Florida state started giving out acceptances for MA in Communication and Science Disorder majors two days ago
