Hi everyone, I hate to be another stats post but I need advice on programs to apply to with a low gpa. My gpa is a 3.05 from UNC Chapel Hill, with a CSD gpa of 3.39. I majored in psychology and linguistics but initially was nursing. I had a bad freshman year due to a traumatic brain injury and two deaths in the family. My gre scores are 153V 147Q and 4W. I have good grades in my prerequisites, nothing below a B. I graduated in December and currently work full time as a special education teachers assistant. I have also shadowed a school and hospital setting, and volunteered to visit kids in the hospital as Disney characters. I also work part time as a funeral director assistant in my family business. I have other non CSD related extracurriculars. I am currently on the waitlist for one program this year but no luck with the rest. Im hoping to find programs that are lenient with gpa and also need advice on what I could do to strengthen my application next year. Thanks so much

Does anyone know on average the length of a waitlist? I know some of these programs are small so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The school I’m waitlisted for also won’t disclose rankings.

Would anyone be interested in making a GroupMe to vent about waitlist stress or stress from this application cycle?

That’s what the email said, which I guess increases my chances but makes the waiting game terrible??

I’m waitlisted for my top choice MUSC. Does anyone know around what time we should see waitlist movement? I figured probably not until closer to acceptance deadlines but wasn’t sure. Good luck to everyone!

Is anyone else starting to stress that they might not get in anywhere? I’ve applied to 10 programs and already have rejections from roughly half. I think due to my low GPA. I had a head injury my freshman year and it really tanked me. Could use some solidarity. Thanks!
