  1. Omg congratulations!! Yes, I literally could not enjoy my acceptance letter from the school that didn't mention funding because I had so much anxiety about not being able to afford it. It almost seemed worse than getting rejected? I will send you all the best energy!! Hopefully they come through for you!
  2. Hello everyone! I got accepted to UCLA SSCE PhD and Northwestern HDSP (fully funded). Does anyone know about the funding options for UCLA's GSEIS? I'm thinking of accepting Northwestern because I can't afford loans or living in LA without funds.
  3. Hi guys! I was accepted into the Social Sciences and Comparative Education PhD program, but have not heard back about funding. Have you guys heard back yet?
  4. I had to email the admissions director and was told that decisions on funding would be sent later this month. I already got into a fully funded PhD program. I have read that this happens sometimes when they don't plan on funding the program. Is that right? Anyone else in this position?
  5. I'm almost 100% sure I will pick Northwestern since they are giving me a fully funded program for 5 years, with a 34k stipend, but I just wanted to hear thoughts/opinions on emailing UCLA and asking for clarity about their funding. UCLA's program costs 37k for out-of-state students, and they did not give me the 25k fellowship I applied for, saying that they will send funding information by the end of the month. I would rather not wait until the end of the month, especially if the package includes loans, which I refuse to take on. I don't really know what they mean by "funding information" and they aren't being clear. They did mention during their webinar last year that most of their students don't graduate with loans. LA has a super high cost-of-living, so even if they wave tuition, I am confused about how I would be able to afford the program the first year. Let me know if you have good advice on how to ask or whether to just take the fully funded offer!
  6. I just emailed and heard back that they'll let us know early next week
  7. Yup! I'm here with you. Sooo nervous! I got into UCLA but not sure about the funding. Northwestern is my top choice. Best of luck! I'll let you know when I hear back.
  8. Were you invited to the round of interviews? Some students participated in that a few weeks ago. I have not heard back
  9. Have you heard back from the comparative international education program or others? I was told that they are hoping to send decisions out this week or next at the latest.
