  1. The fact that I know this information has driven me actually insane the last few days. I started looking into what time they sent me answers (rejections) in previous years, lol. (5-6pm) Anyone hears anything, please put the rest of us out of our misery!
  2. Pretty sure it's the latter. It's not over until it's over!
  3. History, which is why it may be different. I think you're archeology and I'm ancient history, so there are probably differences. However I had a Michigan interview last Friday and a UPenn 2 weeks ago. Both, but Upenn especially, asked me about my research interests then quizzed me on my writing sample, kind of like if it was a defense or conference presentation. Best of luck!
  4. I did an interview for the History-Classics combined degree on 1/12, but have not heard a decision. I am uncertain if they were doing interviews for pure Classics at the same time.
  5. You can look through previous years and see if people have posted interviews for them. I am almost certain, for Classics, there's not multiple rounds, but more that people will get them over a 2-3 week span of time. Plenty of schools also admit without interviews, though, especially if you've spoken to someone ahead of time. In my opinion, you still have a shot until you're actually looking at a rejection, though I also wouldn't get your hopes up either. Even getting an interview guarantees nothing. Best of luck!
  6. I'm almost certain Harvard doesn't, but they've also rejected me twice so maybe I just wouldn't know. Yale does do interviews, but I'd caution against assuming a rejections, because I had mine a week before other people have had theirs. It's clearly quite variable.
  7. I'm the Princeton. PAW Roman history. And I know they're not done sending things out.
  8. Roman history!
  9. Hello, I'm the brown interview request. POI reached out last week saying they were doing 30 minute interviews by subfield to make their rankings which would then go to the full committee. All interviews must be done by Jan. 1, so there is still hope left. Best of luck to you. This is my 3rd time applying and this is the furthest I've ever got, so I get the feeling!
  10. Re: my own question. I just got an interview request from Brown, but doing them before Christmas is a new thing to try and get answers out earlier, and not normal.
  11. Hello all, Have any of you who've done this before ever heard anything before the New Year, even with early December deadlines? I always thought no one did, but then I saw on Brown's (History) website that all interviews are done before Jan. 1, and am wondering if anyone else has ever heard of this. This is my third time going through the process, but since I've never gotten far enough to get anything but a rejection mid-February, it's hard to let go of the refreshing my email constantly hoping for an interview request or something. If the waiting is killing me now, I'm going to be a complete basket case in two months. Any thought?
