  1. Out of curiosity, any international applicants to Berkeley get aid?
  2. Rejected from SCARP! I just accepted my offer for the MURB and feeling pretty good. I'll definitely take classes at SCARP through the Western Dean's Agreement so I'll hopefully see some of you guys there!
  3. Still nothing here! Congrats to those waitlisted, at least it's something and still a chance! ??????
  4. Thanks for the insight! Much appreciated. I guess I can theorize over it all day and night and never find out. It is what it is. You're right, it's all ok! I'm very grateful to be in at another school so it was a successful application cycle either way.
  5. Those who got emails from SCARP (either in, out, or waitlisted) what AoCs did you express interest in? I wonder if the emails went out based on the concentrations people chose and how many seats are available for each. I know the Indigenous stream has very limited spots. Anyone choose a custom AoC? I chose Transportation and Urban Design.
  6. HAHAHAHA same. Thank you for shedding some light on this. Hoping I hear something, literally anything, soon. Even if it's a rejection, I just want to know so I can start planning (no pun intended) my life ASAP.
  7. Wow, congrats! From what I remember, this one is even more competitive with less seats than SCARP, so that's a huge win!
  8. Omg I still haven't gotten a single thing... am I in...am I out... am I on waitlist purgatory... am I even alive... LOL this thread has become a "cry about SCARP" thread I'm sorry @ everyone hahahaha
  9. Do waitlisters get told they're waitlisted or left in purgatory? It seems to go either way on the gradadmissions subreddit. I hope they let me know what's up soon because I need to know so I can start making decisions... If I go to SCARP I have to move, but with SFU I don't... aaaah.
  10. I I'm so sorry:( Fingers crossed for other opportunities for you. Onwards and upwards. May I ask how you found out you are rejected? My portal doesn't say anything and I haven't gotten any emails.
  11. I'm sorry:( I think I'm rejected too. Didn't get anything.
  12. Those who got in at SCARP, what does it say in your portal under submitted applications? Mine says "in progress" - do yours say "accepted" or something?
  13. Proof that SCARP's admissions committee lives rent free in my head: I'm sitting here at 8:59 am thinking "they're starting work in one minute" I hope this week's the week for us!
  14. Thanks. I had no idea it was allowed in some circumstances. I'll look into it, don't think I saw anything on their site but I'll contact someone if it comes to that. I hope the 21 days they give us at SFU will be enough time for SCARP as I don't have money lying around for deposits! We'll see I suppose.
  15. Ooh, you can back out after accepting an offer? Depending on how long it takes SCARP to get back to us, I may have to accept SFU but would want to retract if I do get lucky with SCARP
  16. Oh that's decent, hopefully the waitlist get will be over by then at SCARP... if they got going already, that is!
  17. Sweet. Do you know how long we have to accept or decline the offers? If I end up waitlisted at SCARP til mid-April I might be in trouble...
  18. Congrats!!! Yeah Meg who emailed me was super nice. I'll be glad to reach out to her if I do end up doing it. Edit: Did your actual acceptance come through or the email letting you know you will be getting it? Hahahahahaha can you imagine if we all messed up that interview
  19. Fingers crossed for you! Manifesting that SCARP acceptance for both of us haha. I love the class offerings in the Urban Studies one and also that classes are in the evenings (!) and my only issue is of course the accredation. The MURB is very affordable too. If I don't get into SCARP I'll have to think for a bit if I want to go the non-accredited route or if I should wait for a year to apply again, but at this stage of my life I'm quite ready to get on with it all. I worry that I'll regret that though when I can't find my five years of required planning work:/ Ah, we'll see. I'll chat with SFU about my options and concerns if it ends up being them.
  20. Just got accepted to SFU Urban Studies! Well, a provisional offer - they emailed saying I will soon be receiving my official acceptance from the Dean. Super relieved! My first ever grad school acceptance! My first choice is SCARP because it's accredited but it looks highly unlikely for me so I'm over the moon that I got into this program. It'll be a long and hard road to becoming a registered planner without an accredited degree, but they are so difficult to get into, and it is what it is. I'm just super happy anyways. Major confidence boost too! Incredible start to my day. Anyone else considering SFU's MURB although it's not accredited?
  21. So cool! Thanks! I hope I can save enough to be able to apply to US schools next year... so, so expensive but so many awesome options out there.
