  1. I was in the same situation a few weeks ago.. One professor had not sent a single letter. I emailed him a few times and nothing! Finally one day he just sent them all! That is just how he is though, a little flaky and in need of reminders! Is this how your recommender is as well?
  2. What is your field specifically? I know for some of my programs they will definitely throw out a gre score under 80th so I don't know what to say about that, but I will also say for science programs generally the way the PI or students perceive you as a good fit for the lab is SUPER important. I assume you should get interviews because of the fellowship, so when you interview try to stay open in your ideas and very calm. You want to seem as though you already belong in the lab.
  3. Wow for neuro Masters or PhD? My impression was that it's very rare to start a PhD for neuro in the spring.
  4. Do your programs accept first and then bring for a visit? For neuro, you can hear as early as december for an invitation in mid january-early march. Then you can be accepted as soon as before you leave the interview, or it could be another month!
  5. Just wanted to see if there is anyone else out there who is already waiting to hear about fall 2011! Obviously it will be a while, but should start hearing in weeks (sure 4-5 weeks), but still weeks for interviews. That is for my field (Neuroscience) at least. I hate this part! Waiting is the worst!
  6. I have written papers on my cv as in preparation or submitted to --- (or in review)
  7. Yes from all schools. I had this same issue (community college at home, my undergrad university and a study abroad university). Only one grad program said they only wanted my undergrad transcript. Definitely ask, could save you money if you check with the schools, but generally they want it all.
  8. I listed the percentile as it appeared on my score report. I assume schools want it to be objective and to make sure everyone reports in the same way (ie based on what ets tells us).
  9. I'm sure it will be better! One of my friends retook hers for her quant and writing scores and improved her verbal 50 pts just from being less nervous! If I can give any advice just don't kill yourself the day before, it just makes it worse!
  10. Take it again! Study some more vocab and being less nervous taking it a second time should definitely improve your score! A 1230 isn't too bad, but that percentile could be a red flag to a lot of schools and could potentially keep your app from even being looked at! If you can get it up even 50 points it would be much better, especially seeing as you don't have much research experience which is key!
