  1. No, I haven't heard & am not sure. But it seems reasonable to assume that they might contact some of us today - results were supposed to be announced by the end of March. Of course it's possible that there's a delay - pandemic surely doesn't make the committee's task any easier. But I do think that there's a fair chance they'll send out acceptances today, especially that deadlines for accepting other awards are also approaching.
  2. Sending some good vibes to everyone waiting! Seems like today's the day.
  3. Statistically at least a couple/few of us here should get the award, so I guess it's a feasible hypothesis that they have not sent out the acceptances yet... Nonetheless, stressful!
  4. No, I haven't! I'm in the Arts panel. I just looked up the scholarship timeline, hence the 72 hours.
  5. I think there's a chance they'll contact the successful applicants even as late as Wednesday. Those of the finalists who also received the Harding Scholarship have until April 5 to respond. Gates gives 72 hours. So March 31-April 5 would be 72 hours (excluding the weekend). And the results would still, quite literally, be "by the end of March".
  6. Nothing here! Fingers crossed for some good news for all of us soon!
  7. I haven't heard anything yet (Arts panel). Really hoping for some trickle down funding (Harding/Trust) after Gates Scholars have been announced.
  8. Dear @harleth and @mashatheicebear, Thank you very much for all the useful information! I really appreciate your help. Best wishes!
  9. Hi everyone, I am sorry if this is not the right place to ask this question, but I scrolled through a few pages of this thread and I thought some people here might be able to advise me. I applied to a couple PhD programmes (outside of US), got two offers, but unfortunately the funding situation is not looking too good. I am now planning my next application cycle. My interests are Comparative Literature, Translation Studies and modernist Slavic Literature (not Russian though). I also sometimes work with German and English literature(s). I was wondering if anyone here knew of strong doctoral programmes in Slavonic Studies in the US which are not Russian Lit-oriented (as far as I know, most Ivy League departments are), and also whether anyone here has had any experience with applying to the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I would appreciate your help and apologies again if this is not the right place to ask. Best wishes!
