  1. Hey readers, So. Maybe i'm being impatient but it's almost the end of March and I still haven't heard anything from Pratt, CCA and USC. Well, USC is ok I think because from the other forum I should be hearing from them this week or next week. I am living in France so it'll take some time. But for the others, Is anyone else in the same boat as me?!!! No news? from CCA or Pratt? it worries me a bit. Plus I have an acceptance deadline coming up...
  2. I SEE THAT AT THE BOTTOM OF MY PAGE AS WELL FOR USC. DOES EVERYONE HAVE THIS? SHOULD I SUBMIT MORE PHOTOGRAPHS?!! I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO. PERHAPS I SHOULD JUST CONTACT ADMISSIONS? (hahah sorry for all caps. I'm not yelling at you).
  3. Great question, super hard to decide. The thing is, if you are a great artist, you are a great artist. If someone looks at your work and finds it to be strong-- it's strong regardless of what school you went to. However, the ranked school may give you more visability etc etc. In the end though, some of the greatest artists didn't even go to art school! so where do they factor in? I think drive and talent will push you forward... perhaps your school can push you forward faster! and being debt free certainly helps!
  4. MA Arts Administration NYU Accepted! 3/12 via snailmail to PA (letter dated 3/8), interviewed 3/2 Not sure if this helps anyone, Visual Arts Admin hasn't really come up here. Other admissions results are in my signature...
  5. Updates & Questions: 1. For the CCA acceptances, how did you guys recieve that information? 2. Accepted: Mills College, 3/8 via e-mail Rejected: RIT, 3/10 via e-mail (which was a shock! waitlisted last year with a worse application...)
  6. Can you look up RIT, Mills, Pratt, CCA and USC? if you don't mind, thanks!
  7. Me neither (No login/pword). I e-mailed the techinicians for the site and got a series of unrelated "technical issues" e-mails. I also e-mailed the grad advisor and didn't hear from him... I am out of the country or else I would call them. Perhaps you can call? (and let me know what they say )
  8. Yea kinda... I mean, I don't wanna jump to conclusions! and end up disappointed. My other programs say other odd things... but nothing simply says accepted or rejected. Have you been accessing their webadvisor system? (for CCA)
  9. I'm with Caraa. I'm sure west coast schools are still deciding... like everyone else.
  10. Congrats Allie! Thanks, or, thanks to your husband for posting. I was rejected from UC Riverside on the 17th too! You applied to a great bunch of schools. I take it you're from the west coast... I would love to see your site too (via message). I totally understand your reasons for not wanting to post it on here... I prefer that kind of privacy too. I'm surprised (given this list) that you didn't apply to USC! I almost applied to UCLA but decided it wasn't a good match. Hope to 'see' from you.
  11. UC Riverside- 2/17 rejected recieved an e-mail... on to the next!
  12. Well said "wannaknow" I'm sitting here cosinging everthing you wrote. !! <-- two more I think you forgot : P
  13. Thanks for your response! So how did you get your login info?
  14. Hi, Does anyone know if CCA is notifying cadidates through their WebAdvisor system this year? Apparently they did last year but I have not recieved any personal login info... so I'm thinking maybe they're not doing it this year?
  15. Hi Everyone. Just out of curiosity, who is applying right out of undergrad or one/two years out of undergrad vs. post grad 3 or more years?
  16. Hi-- it's nice to hear someone else is in the same "boat". RIT has a really great program, I'm finishing up my application now. CalArts is great too! My brother went there and I considered it but for me it was the location that I wasn't so keen on. of course Yale is fabulous. Good luck : p
  17. Hello! I'm applying for Fall 2011 in Photo as well. I KNOW there are more of us out there... if not? hey maybe that'll help my chances I have a semi non-traditional background, I have a BA in French and I minored in Studio Art but my school did not offer photography so I did a lot of painting. The hardest part for me, besides putting this artist statement together-- has been the portfolio, so much to share but editing is so important! Has anyone else found this to be challanging? I'm wondering if people with BFA's have had similar problems?... it seems to me like it might be slighltly easier putting this kind of stuff together coming from an art school... Anyway! i'm rambling now. I'm looking at: CCA, USC, UCR, Pratt, RIT, Mills, NYU (Arts Admin) and Seattle U (Arts Leadership) I almost applied to UCLA too! but finally it wasn't a good fit for me. I love all these schools and I'm totally nervous!
