For those of you wondering about Johns Hopkins, I emailed the DGS today and just heard back. This is what he said: "We were impressed with your application, but it is unlikely that we will be able to admit you. We had over 150 applications and only five slots to fill. It is very likely that we will fill those slots with students we have admitted in the first round of admissions." I think it sounds like an unlikely waitlist, but it's enough for me to wrap up this season. It's been hell of an emotional roller coaster, but at the end of the day I'm grateful that I got not only offers but choices, and I'll be happy going where I decide to commit. I was wondering about that. I don't think they normally do interviews, especially not after the first wave of offers/rejections were out.

Anyone hasn't heard back from Johns Hopkins? I saw both acceptances and rejections went out a while ago. All I want is closure.

Now that most results are out, is it time for a "decision" thread?

They first say it would be by the end of the month (Feb), now that it's March, they're taking another 1-2 weeks lol. With all those time I hope they could at least write a nice rejection letter lol.

It's 2 acceptances now. I haven't heard anything yet, nor has the portal been updated. I suppose this means rejection, but they could've just update the portal for everyone right? At this point I just want to be done with the waiting.

I haven't heard anything for a week. It's slowly driving me crazy.

Not that I'm worried about getting called by them, but why calls lol.

Same, Berkeley is a far, far reach for me, and I'm lucky enough to get accepted somewhere already. The wait is killing me tho, I just want to be done with the chapter of me checking my email and the result page 1000 times each daily. Good luck to you too, can congrats to whoever posted the offers!

Those 3 offers posted got me defeated. I'm calling it. No Berkeley for me.

Saw several offers posted on the result board so far; does it seem like all offers are out? Is it safe to assume rejection if haven't heard anything?

I got the interview from CUNY this afternoon! It seems like they're not sending invites all at once (it's the student representative who are sending so it makes sense), so yours might also be on the way! Good luck!

Grad schools must invented Grad Cafe result page so they can push off sending out rejections. -- Me not hearing back from USC, UT Austin, UCI, CUNY, Stanford or UCLA

I'd count not hearing back from UCSB as a good sign! I was among those who were rejected by UCSB earlier (1/19), but I also noticed there hasn't been UCSB offers posted on the result page. More than likely they just weeded out some in the first round and is still in the process making the final decision. UCSB isn't a perfect fit for me, so it's not surprising if they think likewise.

Can't decide which one is better: hearing back from a school every other day or having all the bombs dropped all at once. Maybe I can set a record for back to back rejections or something. BTW, anyone care to claim the UCLA/Berkeley/UIC offer/rejction? Applied to all three programs and saw decisions posted on the result pages for a hot minute, but haven't heard a thing myself. Are they personal emails from faculty members? Are we doomed if haven't heard back?

Not me fanatically check grad café every 2 seconds but when discover the "alert me" function hesitant to sign up lol

Just realized US News updated the ranking for 2021. Any comment on the new ranking? It has been 4 years since they last updated it!
