Thank you very much for the reply, @LetsGetThisBread It seems like that you won the fellowship and congratulations! Japan Foundation said that they will let me know the final result by August 31, 2021 and it is so painful for me to wait another 4 months... Hopefully, they notify me as soon as the a principal grantee decline the fellowship.

I got the notification that I was accepted as a alternate candidate on April 14, 2021. I want to know anything about alternate candidate for the Fellowship. Have you ever seen any case that alternate candidate was accepted later?
