  1. Did anyone hear back from UofA about whether their format this year will be online or in-person?
  2. Sure! I graduated with BSc in Biological Sciences, GPA ~88% (A/A+s in statistics and math courses, some social science courses, but majority is related to the sciences) I have several years of volunteering experience working with culturally and ethnically diverse individuals, and one work experience during the summer. I did science-based research during one summer and volunteered to help with public health research during another summer. One really cool experience I got was recruiting research participants by visiting outbreak sites in-person (I talked about this in my LOI and I think that's what helped me to stand out). I asked professor I took class with and supervisor at my summer work placement for references. At this work placement I also wrote a draft research proposal on a research topic related to public health (the research would be done by the organization but I suggested the idea to the organization). I didn't put all of this in my LOI of course but my whole application would mention all these things. These aren't just stats but I remember trying to find any MPH applicants' info when I was applying to see how competitive I am (and sadly there weren't many and I didn't know anyone pursuing MPH) so I'll just put this here ?
  3. I got an offer of admission from uWaterloo through email today morning
  4. That's a small class size! The website says 250 students each year and ~50% belonging to MPH, so I thought it would be more
  5. I will be accepting UofA and declining UofS offer. So a spot may open up in the distance program at UofS
  6. Does anybody know what the thesis-based MPH program looks like at UofS? Is it only in-person?
  7. Thanks! I think I was under review. I have until April 30 but I have to make a decision before April to choose between USask and UofA
  8. Just got accepted to UofA this morning (epidemiology specialization) !!!!
  9. Contacted UofA and UWaterloo. UofA said review will continue until end of March and admissions decisions will be communicated in early April. UWaterloo will send all decisions by mid-to-late April. Hope that helps for anyone in the same boat.
  10. Distance stream, domestic!
  11. Congratulations to everyone who were accepted! I also got accepted at usask today, but haven't heard back from ualberta and uwaterloo yet so I am going to wait it out. The deadline to accept is early April so I don't know what to do if I don't hear back from ualberta and uwaterloo then
  12. I was recommended for admission at USask today! I'm really hoping I get an official acceptance soon..
  13. Hello everyone. I am wondering if anyone knows if there is a format for letter of intent for uSask MPH application? Will be applying to uSask, uWaterloo, uAlberta for this cycle!
  14. Hello, I do not know anyone who is in the public health field so I would really appreciate if someone could comment on my question. I noticed that MPH program at University of Alberta requires "A GPA of at least 3.0 on most 4-point scales, or B on most letter grading systems, based on your most recent two years or last 60 credits of full-time study (or equivalent)" I am interested in applying for UofA but I do not have 60 credits in my last two years. Does this mean I don't meet the above requirement or can the 60 credits extend to my second year of university?
