  1. For me, the deadline they gave me was until April 15th! The interview invites were sent out right before February with the schedule of either March 3rd or 4th. Hope this helps!
  2. Ohhh I see, thank you very much for sharing that. Good luck with making your decision! I am sure whatever decision you make will be the best for you
  3. Congratulations on your acceptance! I also got my acceptance just about couple hours ago from UBC. Are there anything holding you back from accepting the offer?
  4. Did anybody hear back from either S/ACP from Mcgill or SACP from UBC? I heard SCCP at Ualberta has sent acceptances/waitlist though they haven't sent any rejections, so I am assuming this as a soft rejection. The admission process is extremely slow, and this is really frustrating not knowing what is going on exactly... Hoping for the best to all of us yet!!
  5. Thank you so much for sharing the information! I applied to this program last year, and I am hoping this time will be successful for me in hearing some good news! I hope the department would make their decisions soon so that I can breathe a bit
  6. Just my opinion passing by now I think about it... the writing sample is not required, yet listed in the application checklist. I am guessing the list is more of listing things that can be submitted than the required documents to be submitted. Of course, we should wait and see how the department answers our question (also emailed to Tino already and waiting for the reply), but I thought I'd share my opinion with you so that you might panic less about this issue. It will be alright, let's wait for some good news!
  7. Okay, that sounds extremely uncanny to hear about since I also did not upload the statement of intent as followed by the instruction on the UBC website. Do you mind sharing the email you mentioned as you got from the UBC? My application status also says "in progress/submitted," and my document requirements also described it as "not received" for the statement of interest/intent. I will also send an email to the department now, and I will get you updated with this issue when I get the reply from them. This is extremely frustrating since the website/instruction clearly directed us to not attach SOI to our application. The active communication may help, so... let's figure this out. https://ecps.educ.ubc.ca/students/prospective-students/application-information/#:~:text=We do not require a,answer the online application questions.
  8. Thank you so much for sharing the information and CONGRATULATIONS! Such an accomplishment! That does sound like a reasonable possibility given that you aren't interviewing with the other POIs. Maybe they are members of the admission committees and interviewing the potential ones to review and interview further in the later processes. You mentioned that the two POIs you will be interviewing are not the ones you listed in the application, but you do mind sharing the initials by DMing me? I'd greatly appreciate it if you could please
  9. I still have not gotten any responses from programs that I applied, but I thought I'd post which school I have applied this cycle. - UofT(OISE): SCCP - UBC: SACP - UofA: SCCP - McGill: SACP - University of Windsor: Clinical psychology (Child stream) I'd greatly appreciate it if you could let me know anybody who knows about the timeline of interviews/have heard from these programs listed!
  10. I was wondering if anybody has received any contacts for the interview invites for the school psychology programs (Canadian University)? I noticed clinical psychology programs have started sending invites out, but I have not heard of any school psychology programs about the interviews. It's the third week of January and I am starting to get anxiousss...
  11. Thank you so much for creating this forum! It would be such a big help for prospective applicants for clinical programs. I was wondering if anyone knows about the faculty question as a part of the UofT (OISE) application? The word limit is 1500 for each question while including 4-5 questions, but I thought this sounds oddly too long. Has anybody applied or been admitted to this program and know about what they would like to see from the responses for faculty questions in terms of the lengths?
  12. Hello, I am an international applicant who completed my undergrad in Canadian university. I am hoping to get into either in clinical or school and clinical child/applied child psychology programs (only applying to clinical if the supervisor's area of research lies on child development/family). I noticed every single application they ask if there is any award or grant that are related to the application, but it seems quite difficult to figure out which funding to address since international aren't eligible to apply for CGS-M funding. I was thinking this may be one of the reasons that I have not seen too many international students in the department of clinical psychological science. I wanted to ask to prospective international applicants or current international students if they know any fundings that international students may consider putting in their applications? Also, if you are admitted international students, could you please share your application processes? It would be such a big help for international applicants preparing for the applications!
  13. Thank you so much for supporting me! I wish you the best of luck for your future applications as well :) It has been really rough to stay motivated after the first round of applications! Your comments really cheered me up :) <3
  14. This is such an encouraging information to hear since my CGPA is also 3.4! Honestly, this gives me lots of hopes and drives me to continue my passion for research. The fact that you got into clinical, but not counselling counts another evidence that counselling is not any easier than clinical! If having practical experiences matters significantly, I would assume that I would have a worse shot for counselling than clinical, haha. It's really impressive that you already are working on 2 first-authored pubs even before starting your grad program. Though I heard pubs are not required to get into clinical/grad school, but I think having some more concrete accomplishment like pubs would strongly boost my chance to get in on top of good GRE scores. Thank you so much for sharing your story , really appreciate it ❤️ Could I ask what types of clinical psych research you were accepted with? Congratulations for your acceptance by the way, I wish the best of luck on your studying!!!!!
  15. For sure! I absolutely agree with that counselling and developmental is any easier than clinical. I have witnessed someone who got into clinical, but not counselling, which made me believe that counselling is as competitive to get into as well. Also, I know someone with 3.9 GPA with amazing research experiences and took couple years to get into counselling. I definitely did not intend to present myself sounding like I obviously have a chance for developmental or counselling when I have no chance for clinical. Regardless, I said I was considering developmental or counseling instead of clinical because I thought it might give me a better chance to get in since there would be less people to compete with (than clinical), but I am really glad that you pointed that they are not any easier than clinical. Thank you very much for your reply, I really appreciate it!
  16. Thank you very much for your reply! I know my GPA is not competitive, but glad to know that it's at least not the worst to start with. I will try my best to keep GRE score as high as possible, and apply with the POIs that strongly match with my research interest to show! :) Thank you very much again.
  17. 3.47 in the last two years (*60) to be exact. I received my honours degree in Canada and graduated with first class honours. The reason why my GPA is soundingly bad regardless is that I lost one whole semester of GPA due to COVID-19 and did extremely poor (didn't fail, but worse than you could ever imagine) on two science courses I took within the last 2 years. My grades in my last year skyrocketed, so I could make it to the first class honours. I didn't make admissions for the 2021 round, and am hoping to apply again, but have no idea where I should apply to, or even where I should apply to. My top choice is to get into clinical phd program in either US or Canada, but I know my GPA isn't that appealing... I have consistently gotten pretty good grades from psych courses, but the overall grade matters a lot to my knowledge, so I really want to know where I am standing right now, and where/what to apply. Since my GPA is not the greatest, I am also considering developmental psych and counseling since I am interested in working in health related industry or academia as a professor in the future. Though my GPA is not good, I have 10 presentation that includes posters and talks presented in both national and university conferences, and two manuscripts (second-author) in preparation (meaning not submitted/published yet). I also have three non-referred papers published in mental health-related magazines. I have been doing research around 4 years at the moment, and I hope my research experience would back my GPA up a bit. I haven't written the GRE yet, and debating whether I should take both general and psych subject together in case I want to apply to schools that require both of them. I know my research interests and have the capacity to look for POI, but I also really need to know what type of programs I should apply considering my academic standing... Long story short, I am hoping to I: - have a 3.47 GPA (last two years; 60*) - hold 10 research presentations, 2 manuscripts in preparations as a second author, and 3 non-referred journal articles - have 4 years of research experiences (developmental, clinical child) - want to know whether I have a shot for clinical; if I do then, masters OR phd from APA/CPA accredited schools Really appreciate to anyone who could share their ideas!
