Did they provide a ranking? If so, why didn't they provide it in the first place? I would really like to know how close I was to getting funding although that might make me feel worse. A month later and I still feel crushed.

Committee 4B: Research potential and experience (50%): 5.05 / 6 Quality of proposed research program (50%): 5.23 / 6 Total Score (weighted): 10.28 / 12 I'm super disappointed but kind of mixed feelings as I feel like my scores are decent. I thought my first score would have been higher than my second so trying to get my head around that. Wondering what the odds of getting funding are for people in my position.

Ugh, that's brutal. Such a low success rate. Weren't they supposed to be offering more this year? Does it say the cut off for funding in your committee? I'm really sorry.

I have access to the extranet website because I went through the SSHRC doctoral process. At that time, it was a bit of a mess. I got my email around after midnight and the website was overwhelmed and not working well. I gave up trying that night and finally got my results later the next morning. Anyway, appleandpear is correct - when they email, they provide information for how to access results. The email itself does not provide that information.

Just waiting here with all of you. As hard as this is, it's nice to know I'm not the only one going through it. It's such a long wait and I know they gave that March 31st date, but I was really hoping for something earlier so I can plan my life either way.

I think that's a question for SSHRC and your proposed institution. As far as I know, they do not monitor hours closely and there's simply an expectation that you work on the proposed research project in a timely manner that reflects full time research. I believe I read that a report is required once a year to report progress or something like that. Curious what the answers to these questions are though.

I'd ask any mentors you have to find out what their thoughts are. It may also depend on your area of study. If I were you, I'd keep the tenure track position since you already have that as a place to build from. That said, I work in K-12 education quite happily as a teacher with limited ability to move for personal reasons, so I have kept my day job. I am REALLY excited about the prospect of taking a leave and doing postdoctoral research for two years. It sounds like heaven to me to have that much time to focus on research, writing, and networking as I worked full time throughout my doctoral studies. I think it also depends on the level of risk you are willing to adopt in being where you really want to be. If you're excited about the potential of the postdoc opportunity, it could be worth it, but most people I've talked to in academia seem to think the wise move is to keep a tenure track position, as they are rare these days. Again, it depends on your situation and specific field.

It's my first time applying for postdoc funding as well - it would change my life in such a positive way so I'm really hoping to get it. I am also trying to stay grounded and realistic as I know it's subjective and funding is limited. It might sound strange but I was bracing for the end of February at the earliest so I'm okay with waiting a bit longer for results as much as I'd like to know. I need to emotionally prepare myself.

Based on what we're seeing, we still need our own SSHRC thread. Were the NSERC results not also meant to be out on March 31st? I guess it says "by" March 31st which means all these things can be true.

The code is on the first page of the application under "preferred selection committee." This aligns with the 4-digit codes you posted above.

This is better than expected, though it's a little frustrating that we have to submit applications a month earlier and get our results later.

So after about 7 hours of refreshing every browser I have, getting close then the page crashing multiple times (and achieving a variety of error codes in the process), I found out that I was successful. Kind of shocked but I was ranked 16/123 in committee 752-4B. Hope everyone gets their results soon! I need a nap.

I emailed them about the website but no reply. Still can't get my results. So frustrating!

I can't even load the website anymore. I'm temporarily giving up. The torture continues but checking a page that doesn't load it possibly even worse right now.

I've been trying to get it to load for over an hour. I got as close as seeing a folder to download but it just kept loading and eventually timed out. I think I need to take a break and come back later. I can't even get the site to load now. Sigh...

No kidding. I'm kind of dreading the results but need to know eventually I guess. You did amazing which likely isn't much consolation but seeing the scores shows you that you did well at least.

Not in the same boat but wanted to say your research sounds very interesting and meaningful. Hopefully we find out soon and you can make that decision. They must have to take these other deadlines into consideration.

I considered this as well. I fully support workers if they are on strike and would be okay with a delay. I have mentally prepared myself for this possibility but the SSHRC Twitter account is still active if that means anything. If we don't hear anything by this Friday, that could be the issue but, otherwise, it should be soon! It seems like the wait gets harder the closer we get.
