  1. @hopetheosoonI was wondering the same thing. I applied, but never heard back. I've heard back from all my other schools except Vanderbilt. So it's kind of strange. Regardless, I'm not going there because I got an acceptance elsewhere in my number one school.
  2. Hello fellow religion applicants, Im currently on the waitlist at PTS so if there is anyone who isn't planning on attending PTS, please let them know. I'm currently in application purgatory.
  3. @Fiatsame here. But then I realized...it's Yale...fierce competition there. Congrats on those who got accepted, though!
  4. @hopetheosoon For Drew, in the results page here, there were a few rejections on the last week of January. I myself applied to Drew along with @chasingchaosas well and there hasnt been any news yet. Drew should come any day because they want to send a decision before 2/28
  5. Thought those who applied to Princeton Seminary (note: not Princeton University) might be interested to know that PTS is aiming to send decisions out by 2/25. If that helps any
  6. @chasingchaos Yup! I am nervous, but hopeful. For Drew I applied for the theological and philosophical studies track, and for Union I applied for the Theology and Ethics track. I also applied to Fordham for the PhD in sys theo. There might be a funding issue in Union. Who knows. I'm currently a student at Princeton Seminary, so my ultimate hope is to stay here for the PhD since the theology faculty knows me already, but never any guarantees with these applications. Lol I just want these decisions to come out already.
  7. @chasingchaos Nope, haven't heard anything from Drew yet. Weird that they would send rejections out first and not all the decisions all at once. I'm assuming you applied to the Biblical studies track, but how about your friend who was recently rejected from there (sorry to hear about that): what track did your friend apply to? Also, since I applied to Union Seminary as well, I haven't heard any news yet. Though, I'll say they keep sending me emails about the timeline I should expect a decision which is either this month or early next month. Either way, I am expecting a lot of decisions this month based on past history of these schools giving decisions.
  8. Yup, same here. Duke was a rejection today. But it's ok. Waiting for Union Seminary's, Drew's, PTS's, Fordham's
  9. @xypathos@MKPolicy Yeah it really is a cruel trick. But as a current PTS student, I'm sure PTS doesn't do interviews, otherwise I would've heard about it from current PTS PhD students. Still: I'm super anxious ??? lol
  10. Similar to @Fiat can anyone claim the Princeton Theological Seminary interview? It was posted January 17, 2022. I'm a current student in PTS (so, an internal PhD applicant) and I thought that PTS doesn't do interviews. That's at least what last year's PTS PhD cohort said.
  11. @Taorluath34 Yup I'm going nuts myself. It's too early to go nuts, but can't help it. Though I heard back from one school (Vanderbilt) and they want to interview me. But it is my understanding that not all schools do interviews.
  12. I'll be applying for systematic theology programs at Princeton Seminary, Union Seminary, Drew, Fordham, and UVA.
  13. Hi everyone! I've been a longtime lerker here on these forums, and now I decided to take the brave step and post here for the first time. I'll be applying for PhDs in systematic theology, and I particularly want to focus on political theology. Here is my background: My B.A. is from Fordham University with majors in Spanish and Theology. I wrote a thesis, though, combining both majors by writing on political theology in Francoist Spain. I had a 3.94 GPA here, summa cum laude, and member in Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi. My M.Div. is in an evangelical school (Gordon-Conwell). I got a 3.96 GPA here, summa cum laude, and I became a member of the school's theological honor society. Here, I became interested in Barth and sociopolitical dimensions of theology such as questions of sovereignty. My Th.M. is in Princeton Seminary with a focus on systematic theology. I decided to slowly take my ThM instead of rushing through it, especially during covid. So, that meant I got to know more professors here from George Hunsinger to Bruce McCormack. in fact, one of them will be writing my recommendation for PhD! Thus far, I've been getting a 4.0 GPA, and I will write a thesis to finish my ThM. I've also presented 3 papers thus far in grad student conferences. So, all this said, I'm looking to apply to top tier schools in systematic theology, and one of them obviously will be here at Princeton (I hope to stay here, in fact!). But, I wondered if anyone had other suggestions/advice about where else to apply? Definitely dont want to put all my eggs in one basket. What are people's thoughts on Union and Vanderbilt? I'm hoping to do work here in the states because funding is more widely available here. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!
