  1. Also accepted into Orillia!!! I just got off a work meeting and saw the email and immediately started crying. So excited for this!!!
  2. The waiting game is almost over!! I'm with you on that one. Obviously I appreciate there's always next year, but waiting since the personal statement exam has really built up everything around admissions?? Ooo a trip! That's so exciting! Hoping for us all that we get in?✨
  3. Is everyone else ready to spend the next week or so constantly checking for updates ?
  4. Thank you so much for sharing! Let's all hope that they do come out early April ?
  5. I'm happy to know that I'm not alone in the feeling of ready to burst! Honestly from what I've read online, it seems quite a few people commute from GTA and other areas. I'm about 40 minutes east of Ajax and if I had a car, I'd do the commute too! I just looked at residence prices and gagged, after 4 years living not on campus, I forgot how expensive it is ugh. But it seems like it might be one of the most reliable options for a 6 month living situation for those of us who have to move to Orillia. Also yes, fingers crossed we hear back early!! It's approaching so quickly, it feels like just yesterday I was stressing and preparing for the personal statement exam.
  6. I think rent is more affordable in Orillia?? I'm actually not too sure. Obviously cheaper if you live with others, but I've also seen that finding housing in Orillia is really competitive unfortunately.
  7. Hey!! The thought of accommodations has been ✨stressful✨. I've started very casually looking into places to stay in Orillia since that's my first choice. From what I understand about the program, we would only need to be in person in Orillia until December, and then leave to do our placements wherever they are. Because of this, it seems even more difficult to try to find a rental for only that short amount of time. So honestly, if residence is available for 6 months, I'd do that just to make it easier on myself. Honestly if I get in, I feel like figuring out accommodations is going to be the biggest mess but just letting that be a future me problem hopefully lol
  8. Welcome to the club!!! I submitted my application a little bit before the last day and did the personal statement exam like 10 minutes after it opened on the Friday, so that would probably makes sense then that they are looking at it in the order they received applicants stuff. Even though I know we aren't going to hear back until early to mid April, I keep checking my info basically every day anyway??
  9. How are people feeling the closer we get to April? Honestly I'm about ready to burst. I just want to know so I can start planning since it's a lot to figure out in a short amount of time, especially living situations!
  10. Hi! Thank you so much for reaching out. It's so reassuring to see someone who was in the same position! I have tons of questions so I will definitely reach out
  11. ? Thank you for letting us know! And also, did anyone else not get an email from admissions about this?
  12. Aaaaa that makes sense! I applied to both. Orillia is my first choice because it's closer to home for me, but I'd be happy to go to thunder Bay if I got in there
  13. My major is Human Kinetics and my minor is in the social sciences of health! Working with CAS is definitely awesome experience! I'm sure that will help applying this time around. Fingers crossed for good news for us (and that we hear back sooner rather than later, because the waiting game is killing me too lol)!! Did you apply for both campuses?
  14. I'm not! I just finished my undergrad at uOttawa
  15. I figure if I get into this program, I'll take time off again after it to figure out if I even want/ need to go back to school again! I'm (obviously lol) really hoping I get in so that it can help me figure out what kind of path I want to take, whether that be an MSW, MPH, or whatever else ok! I applied to both, I would prefer to go to Orillia given that its much closer to home, but if I get in at Thunder Bay, I'll definitely go there! I know we still have a month and a bit until we hear back but waiting is brutal, especially in regards to planning for possible having to relocate/ jobs and stuff. I'm really looking forward to when we get answers!
  16. Lets hope we get lucky and hear back early! That will make planning much easier for us all. I'm still on the fence about what I'm going to do honestly, I figure I may end up applying to both MSW and MPH programs, but I might also end up taking a year off (I was originally going to take this year off, but then I learned about this program and decided to apply and give it a go). Curious, have you guys applied for the Thunder Bay program, Orillia, or both? Fingers crossed for us all while we deal with the waiting process :')
  17. I know me too? from what I've read on different threads on this site is that people usually heard back early to mid April, which seems both so painfully far away but also approaching so quickly! I also attached a screenshot of what my application shows since it changed to assessment pending!
  18. Just checked application standing and saw that a week ago my application shifted from being submitted to "assessment pending". its so exciting to know that we're getting closer to when acceptances will be released, but it made me nervous just the same :')
  19. omg thank you for sharing, that definitely makes me feel better! it was hard to hit 2 pages for sure, and sometimes it didn't feel necessary, so this is reassuring
  20. Hey! So I actually emailed right at the beginning when I opened the exam (I had hoped maybe when I opened it, they would have clarified that, but obviously they didn't), and Lynda (I think that was their name) specified that it should be 2 pages single spaced. I wasn't thrilled that they didn't specify it, I thought that was definitely an oversight on their part. Ugh yes, the waiting now is the worst since everything is out of our hands now!
  21. I will, it'll be closer for me to go to Orillia than Thunderbay, so Orillia is my top choice. But if I get in at Thunderbay, I'll relocate there!
  22. Hi!! I just started preparing some of my answers for the exam. For now I've been going off what was provided to us on the info package and whatever I can find in previous discussions on this website!
  23. Hi!! Thank you so much for posting this information. I've been searching online for anything to help, and this is amazing! I was wondering if you knew anyone who completed their placement outside of Ontario/Canada? I saw on the program website that for the Orillia campus students, there may be potential for completing the placement nationally or internationally and thought it would be interesting to hear from someone who had that perspective! Thank you again for all this information! It definitely eases some of my anxieties while getting ready to send my application in.
  24. That's amazing!! Thank you so much
  25. Oh, thanks so much for sharing! Hi!! I've recently started the application process for the program. Would it also be possible to join the group!!
