for those who have previously applied / know the answer to this question, if you accept and offer from Mac (that uses graduate studies portal), are you automatically out of the running for any other school that also uses SGS (i.e., OISE)? i know it’s like that for law school since you apply through OUAC to all schools at once. I was just wondering if our emails are linked across different applications and if we are pulled out of the running if we accept other offers. Any advice on this would be really appreciated

I am SO sorry to hear this...that is completely not fair and i really hope Guelph takes responsibility for their actions, or at least has the decency to send out an apologetic and empathetic email. I really feel for you.

pretty sure we're all just on the waitlist and they're going through waitlisted people and accepting from there.

that whole concept is really stupid because people who are shortlisted could strengthen their application even MORE within the year before their interview, but they would be given admission based on their experience from the year before?

as annoyed as i am about the time/money applicants dedicated to the program, im even more annoyed with how non-empathetic these responses are. they just sound annoyed with students reaching out which just speaks to their entire attitude towards applicants and the program (that its a money grab instead of accepting students for the purpose of educating society).

LITERALLY! i know some who applied last year and said they forgot about applications until they got their admission decisions and i don't know how they did it. it's literally all i can think about all day. and the days couldn't go by any slower. i just feel like every school is boosting now...like if mac finished interviewing everyone then why do they have to wait until mid-end march to send out decisions...the universe hates us ☠️

exactly...i got so excited when i was waitlisted but i noticed that many others' portals were also waitlist pending so now i'm thinking they waitlisted like 100 people and then will go through those 100 then accept 30?

sadly, they wont be accepting anybody. i know that money isn't as valuable as our time, but it's still annoying to think they wont give us our money back

im confused about ottawa myself as well. the program is rolling admission. given they sent out rejections (and no acceptances from what i can tell), i also think they're waitlisting those who are qualified in order and then will soon send out those acceptances. it's kind of odd to me since the program itself only accepts 30 students but it seems like WAY more got waitlisted.

for those who applied to mcmaster's psychotherapy program, did you guys get a MacID login for Mosaic? I didn't get anything of that sort and wondering if i missed it.

Hi everyone! I thought it might be a good idea to start a forum to discuss applications for the CFT program at Guelph (2022 Fall admission). I am applying this year and hope that my 3.9 GPA, literature contribution and clinical experience will make for a good application. If anyone else is comfortable sharing about their applications, feel free to talk about it!
