  1. I was originally waitlisted for the MIA program, but I just received my nomination for acceptance... I cannot tell you how excited I was to finally get that email! Congrats to everyone who was admitted, and good luck to anyone else still waiting for waitlist decisions!!!!!
  2. Accepted into the SIPA MIA program (conditional, must complete either calculus, or two economics courses)! This was very unexpected and I applied on a whim without much confidence in my ability to get in. Super excited!
  3. I got into BU (with 24k scholarship), NYU, American, (still waiting to hear back ab financial aid for those) and am still waiting to hear back from UCSD, USC, Tufts, Columbia, and UCSB. My top choices are between UCSD, American, and Columbia (if I get in to all 3 I have no idea what I'll do.) American is awesome because its in DC where I will ultimately end up. Columbia is great for the name and location - international hub NYC with chance to intern at UN and other nonprofits/govt. orgs, and UCSD is top choice for learning another language, region specific, and quantitative work. Really leaning towards UCSD because the education fits my goals best, which is why I really want to hear back from them.
  4. Nope, still haven't heard back. Congrats on your admissions so far, I got into American too!! My application with UCSD has been "under review" since January 13th, so it's been over a month and still no word on an actual admissions decision yet... maybe they just had a huge pool of early notification applicants this year? Has anyone reached out to the admissions office about when we might be hearing back, or what the delay is being caused by?
  5. I hope we hear something back tomorrow... this really feels like quite a long wait for an early notification application that had to be submitted during the first week of December. Really dont want to wait it out through another weekend/week!!! Dying to just know already lol
  6. Another week without hearing from them... the anticipation is really killing me now! Hopefully this upcoming week will be the week we finally hear back on decisions. Did anyone get a chance to attend their zoom event yesterday? All of the spots were already reserved by the time I was trying to sign up thought it could be interesting though especially since a current student was going to be there.
  7. I got an email that my appication was under review on Jan 13th, and I was really expecting this to be the first school I heard back from as I applied to it the first week of December, the earliest of any of my applications. I just heard back from BU Pardee with an acceptance yesterday, and they had only sent my application out for review on Monday (24th). So it took less than a week to hear back and its been over two for UCSD… No news is good news though I guess, fingers crossed and good luck!!
  8. Wanted to start this forum since Early Deadline applicants should be hearing back soon. Anyone else on here apply before Dec. 4th and waiting to hear back? Looking at past years, decisions should start rolling out early next week!
  9. Program Applied To (MPA, MPP, IR, etc.): MIA Schools Applied To: UCSD (GPS), Columbia (SIPA), NYU (SPS), BU (Pardee), Tufts (fletcher), American (SIS), USC (Annenberg), Northeastern, UCSB Schools Admitted To: Schools Rejected From: Still Waiting: all Undergraduate Institution: Penn State Undergraduate GPA: 3.46 Undergraduate Major: Broadcasting Journalism with double minors in German and Global and International Studies GRE Quantitative/Verbal/AW Scores: didn't take. (choosing the waived option) Years Out of Undergrad (if applicable): .5 Years of Work Experience: .5 Describe Relevant Work Experience: Internship with a Non-Profit that works with the Department of State Strength of SOP (be honest, describe the process, etc): SOP has a heavy focus on my personal and academic experience living, working, and studying abroad as well as a strong emphasis on my internship work within the government and how that has made me want to further pursue academia in the field. Each SOP is heavily individualized between specific programs and schools. Strength of LOR's (be honest, describe the process, etc): 2 strong letter from supervisors, 1 strong letter from highly regarded professor Other: GPA is low due to lower grades as a lowerclassmen on an "Undecided" major course. Mostly A's and a few high B's the last 2 years of undergraduate.
  10. I applied to UCSD's MIA with GPS on Dec. 3rd, for an early admissions notification from them.. when should I expect to hear back? If I get in, will this admissions decision include any funding/scholarship results or will I still have to wait for those? Just looking for a timeline I can look forward to since the anticipation is already killing me!
